"Sandboxing, back and forth - decided to delink the Delicious feed from the Tumblr feed - since a link with a description of the content does not add value to be syndicated here on Tumblr. Minimum requirement to get into the Tumblr feed is [media/content] + [referring/pointer] + [description of content] + [COMMENT/ADDED VALUE]. This last piece is exculded from the Delicious Feed. Bookmarking is also coming in greater volume, which would lead my followcost on Twitter to increase, since this Tumblelog is fed both to the microblog and main blog sidebar." - Anders Abrahamsson

"Actually, when testing it out, I discovered that the posting was not shown fully, only 283 characters, but when editing the post at Tumblr, I saw that the posting was there in full. So, seems that the Tumblr bookmarklet is the thing if you want to post texts conveniently to Tumblr going beyond 283 chars. I like your blog message, Anders, and I totally agree. There are a number of intertwined, interdependent factors that determine the prospects for development. Which of course also leads to the conclusion that lack of holistic approach may be counter productive when trying to eradicate poverty. - Niclas Ihrén
Thanks, Niclas. And given the message of Homer-Dixon on Ingenuity Gap, I see only one way forward re: this - to leverage collaborative wisdom and making thousands of innovations for sustainability co-evolve in a broad approach - better millions of thousand-dollar startups, than a thousand of million-dollar ventures! - Anders Abrahamsson

The best lifestreaming blog so far (in the tumblelog domain), especially in use of a smart-phone with media sharing (I'm on http://andersabrahamsson.poste...). Just in between Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/sliceon...) and Vox (http://andersabrahamsson.vox.c...) as service. And dead simple signup, just email it and you're done! You can create a vanity subdomain after signup, since the auto-generated subdomain is kinda non-memory-friendly. Anyways, passes way ahead the GrandMa test in simplicity. - Anders Abrahamsson

You have an MP3 file (a podcast, a song of your band, a lecture) and you want to share it with the visitors of your site. Here is a Flash player that allows you to pause and rewind the MP3. It's like an audio version of Google Video or YouTube, with the difference that the file is hosted on your server (or on another server). It's a modified version of Odeo player, that's used to play podcasts on odeo.com. Code included. - Anders Abrahamsson

Brijit.com summary: "Ethical consumerism is big business: Shoppers spend tens of billions of dollars searching for ethically certified products (environmentally sustainable and/or sold at fair market price). Alpert compares the claims and practices of the four companies that certify businesses big and small: Quality Assurance International (QAI), TransFair, Utz, and Rainforest Alliance. As Alpert smartly points out, allegations of "greenwashing" via the lowering of certification standards, the use of pesticides in organic farming, and the lack of facility inspections are raising concerns about these organizations' legitimacy. Keeping with the fairness theme, Alpert also lists the positive sides of these organizations." (through brijit.com http://www.brijit.com/abstract...) - Anders Abrahamsson

Quote: "If someone were to do a poll of the Top 10 breakthrough ideas in management in the decade gone by, the concept of the bottom of the pyramid (BOP) would without doubt be somewhere at the top of the list." New interview with Stuart L. Hart, launching BOP 2.0 as a concept distinguishing in between discovery based (i. e. I would say Kirznerian) vs creation based (i. e. Schumpeterian) innovation approach to the BOP markets. Great! Hart is on track :). - Anders Abrahamsson

His parents let him do it, encouraging his creativity. Last week, Dr. Pausch, a computer-science professor at Carnegie Mellon University, told this story in a lecture to 400 students and colleagues.
