I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that. - Michael W. May

Well now, ain't that precious. Makes me long for my pothead days. "A modern spiritual!" Muahaha. And they murdered the song. My mom used to watch that show when I was a kid. The effects of this abuse are obvious. - Jack Carlson
or: c. Stop looking at pagan-worshipping-virgin-sacrificing-leather-wearing-skull pimps :) - VickyPearce
You worship pagans? ;) Weird. I bet it really annoys some of them when you follow them around chanting... - James Williams (willia4)
I currently have a small group dancing in a semi-circle around me chanting "MMM-Puck Puck, MMM-Puck Puck". You get used to it. :p - Neal "thePuck" Jansons
Mark is making plans for next year's Halloween... - Pete Delucchi
Pete, who said anything about Halloween? I'm making plans for Saturday night! - Mark Wilson
If she continues to stick her pumps in her mouth and become a joke, her chances to move up and trade on her fame will disappear. - Jack Carlson
WTF? Are you kidding me? Why is nobody paying attention to what is being filmed? This is pretty retarded.. both on the camera guy's part and Palin's part. - Maria
That's what I call a maverick photo op. - Vezquex இ
Wow dude..that's one way to skin a rabbit. - Josh Haley
Anika, you rock the house tonight with this post. Just sayin' - anna awesomesauce
If you don't want to watch, here's the essence: When asked by the reporter why she accepted the invitation to visit the Turkey Slaughtering operation Palin replies (as the Turkey kicks its last kick: "I'm happy to get invited to participate in this....for one you need a little bit of levity in this job." - David HC Soul
She continues: "Certainly we'll probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least this was fun." I guess if she ever does make it to the White House, we can expect to see the end of the traditional "Presidential Turkey Pardon" in favour of a news conference highlighting one Turkey meeting its destiny. - David HC Soul
I agree with Josh - this has the chipper scene in Fargo written all over it. There's another strange Gestalt going on, it's like a reverse "Wag the Dog" (Dustin Hoffman) - the camera shot's perfect, the banal Q & A is juxtaposed with animal slaughter in progress + the bloody-pants farm hand peers on-and-off at the camera, with a knowing expression: "You getting all this?" The only irony left to settle requires an answer to this: Were the work pants courtesy of a recent donation to charity? - Micah Wittman
As a non native speaker i just recognized one of the few assets in contrast to the many drawbacks that I experience normally. I watched the video while reading the comments in this ff posting and did not focus on translating what she was talking about, just recognized her nonverbal communication. And imho she is acting like a selfish attention whore, pleased by beeing filmed beside any values/responsibilities. I am pretty sure she will be far more expenive to her supporters than anyone imagines today.. - Jens Christian Freund
"In February 2008 Polaroid ceased production of their Instant film.
The 'Instant' photo frame enables you to replicate the aesthetic and functionality of this iconic archetype in a picture frame.
Snapping out of a laser cut flat package, the user can take an existing photo, found picture, or printed image and translate it into a 'polaroid' format.
Using the front section of the frame, the image is framed and the corners marked on the image. Then, taking the back section of the frame, and lining up the corner marks, the user marks the cutting guide template.
After trimming, the image can be place into the frame, and using a dry wipe marker, comments can be written, which can be erased and re-written when the images is replaced." - Cee Bee

Not surprised, Nicholas. They shrank her butt and stuff. You like the first one probably in part because she's more normal and natural looking. This is annoying. Having to hold myself back from launching into a predictable feminist rant. - Kamilah Gill
And we wonder why we have so many gender image issues. - Alex Scoble CISSP
You are right Kamilah, I do prefer the 1st one because she is natural looking and actually has a butt. - Nicholas Kreidberg
It's totally so common you have no idea. It's insane what photoshop can do! - Patricia
Amazing - think of the cumulative impact that photoshop has had on our shared concepts of who we are. Wild - instance of law of unintended consequences? - Simon Plashkes
Parts of me finds it cool and wants it done to her own pictures. The other part finds it horrendous that we think we have to make this rather good looking girl "squished" thinner, paler (!), smoother to be acceptable to the media. The message about how women (and increasingly men) must be to be accepted is... scary. How do we go back to considering normal humans just fine? - Joelle Nebbe
The problem is that it goes beyond what is physically possible. We can do makeup and plastic surgery, but we can't turn into pale plastic dolls like this. - Kamilah Gill
wow and that's probably one that has less Photo Shopping than most. nothing is real anymore - BEX
We had this before photoshop. It was called Barbie. Funny thing is, I'm just now noticing she was photoshopped and this has been in my feed 7 hours now...LOL - ♫ Rahsheen™
she looks like a damn crackhead effing model....suck those cheeks in and vomit your food. does the bank account good DOESN'T IT - Caroline
I think she looks ropey in both pictures. I'd prefer the alien model with no belly button. OMG hahahaha from http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/mag... "Ms Kurkova has not spoken publicly about how she came to have a smooth navel, and all her agent will say is "she's not an alien"." - Toby Graham
I started a tumblog to gather info I found about the Android... so far it's just got some wallpapers that I made (and a few I found). Thought someone might like them. - Lindsay Donaghe

Although this is exceptionally cool as an idea and strategically place tattoos on a woman are very sexy, a full chest tattoo on a woman is not. I'm just sayin'. - Jason Huebel
I intended mine to be stitched, not unzipped. - Mattie Kenny
Jason- I know plenty of people who do find it sexy. Just sayin'. - Mattie Kenny
Derrick - What tats do you have? Dish! You just got even sexier! - Mattie Kenny
I don't like tattoos on anyone, but I would have liked hers more without the hand-bra. - Joey Gibson
i'm not saying anything other then ..........cuz i like mattie ....she can do whatever she wants....although it does freaky me out. - Caroline
i don't care for this particular image, but tattoos look great on some women no matter where or how large the piece is - Cee Bee
Right arm sleeved, Japanese work...dragon, phoenix and a day of the dead sugar skull in there, the left arm is a bunch of stuff, a 30's jazz singer chick, a pirate ship, a drunk swallow, a bunch of stars, Lauryn Hill, lol. Quite a few. - Derrick
She should do something original, like maybe a lower back tattoo. - Peter Simard
are u guys having tattoo people cyber sex? - Caroline
Peter - That had me literally laughing out loud. - Mattie Kenny
Derrick - I'm more of a piercing person myself, but I do have a couple tats. I've been working on that chestpiece design for a while now. I'll have to work on it more now that I see someone else with such a similar idea. - Mattie Kenny
though I'm not a tattoo person, I do agree with Jason, and if you were to do something similar, I think a autopsy cut w/ organs leaking out would be cooler. - clarke thomas
That's the direction I wanted to go with mine, Clarke. - Mattie Kenny
Mattie, for all my ink work, piercings make me squeemish. I know, I know. Go figure. I love big tattoo pieces though. I have a big personality (duh) so we go hand in hand. Have no idea what'd I do for a chest or back piece though. At least not yet. - Derrick
Derrick - Yea, I'm similar about tats! I love em, but damned if I'm squeamish about getting em! I have A LOT of piercings. But I like it because if you look at me, you'd never be able to tell. (tehe) I also do suspensions and play piercings a lot, too. You should get a tat of the Bammer walking into the White House. :-P - Mattie Kenny
I think this one will be regretted in 5 years, maybe sooner. - Lindsay Donaghe
Just because someone gets a big tattoo does not mean they will regret it. It's artwork and self-expression. But everyone's going to believe what they want, that this girl MUST have just come up with this on a whim and will be so disappointed in herself down the line when she gets older and wiser. No. She might freaking love it till the day she dies. - Mattie Kenny
I don't know... seems like the pulmonary artery should be anterior ipsilateral to the aortic arch. Not trying to raise any undue concerns, but perhaps this ink should be looked at by a cardiologist... just to be on the safe side.... - Karim
actually I once considered a similar tattoo, only much simpler, really -- just a big dotted line around the outline of the heart with a caption of GIRLFRIEND STAB HERE. but that was when i was bitter. lol - Karim
I can only imagine what this will look at when she's 60...probably like she fell the wrong way on a jar of vegemite. - Josh
I have almost thirty tattoos and that is my worry Josh - Joe Dawson (beta)
That would have been the cleanest solution if they had done it when they ran the wires. But now they would have to rip up the street, or the sidewalk. Seems like a lot of trouble to save a few branches. - Ray Metzen
at least manicure the damn thing. don't go leaving a hole like a rocket ran through it or something - Cee Bee
Yeah, sure wouldn't hurt if the utility people stopped occasionally and considered the aesthetics of what they are doing, or put a trained gardener on the team... - Ray Metzen
yeah, this is mutilation. and the best answer is to loose the tree. sad either way. - MikeAmundsen
They can't risk the branches touching the powerlines, especially in a storm... no way to make it look nice and keep the distance... sad, but I'd rather be safe and have power.... - Lindsay Donaghe
In 2006, I spent six days and 16 hours without electricity. I'll let those jerks do what they want, as long as they do it proactively. See, they were warned that the outages could happen, and they didn't do anything until AFTER it happened (and supposedly got awards for their subsequent response). - MiɳiMagɘ (Sexy Scimitar)
well it's not the utility companies job to keep trees trimmed. If it is a tree on cities propriety it is there job to keep trimmed or if it is on privet propriety it's the owners if they have to cut it someone will get the bill. - Zehn
whoever the responsibility belongs to is besides the point. just pointing out that it's an eyesore for any location - Cee Bee
That's bureaucracy for the loss for us all. What about the lack of aesthetics for the community as a result of the hatchet job? wow! - Roney Smith
I've never seen anything that drastic before. They might as well take down the tree. - BEX
Yeah, they just create more problems by pruning the trees like that. Won't bore anyone with the horticultural deets. Suffice it to say, they would have been better pruning completely back to the base of the main branches. At least then the tree would only be an eyesore until the new growth appeared in the spring, and then it would take several years for the branches to become a potential nuisance again, if even then. Often times if you prune it back hard enough, you'll encourage more shrub-like growth that's easier to manage. - Amanda H.
I refer to these tree coiffe as "A Larry" from the three stooges. It is tree abuse. - jlt
I hate that but it looks so friggin cool. Would make an awesome deathslide. - Toby Graham
I've been using Bookmarkit for 9 years now and while it's sometimes clunky, it's 10000 times better than delicious. - Anika Malone
Get Del.icio.us but also get Diigo... Then you have the best of both worlds (Diigo will auto-post to Del. Del is easier to share your bookmarks with others because of the urls you can build with your tags). - Lindsay Donaghe
I'm increasingly of the opinion that bookmarks are pointless. If I need something again, I hit Google. I -do- use Read This Later (and pipe it back into a room here), but I read and then toss...maybe leaving some notes in my FF room...but that's about it. - abacab

Condolences. I started noticing a significant bald spot in 1992, although I pushed the long hair thing for another two or three years. Now I'm a #2 clippers all over guy. I'm not traumatized by being mostly bald, but OTOH I liked having thick hair and if I could get it back safely and inexpensively, without much hassle, I'd do it in a minute. - Mitch Wagner
You guys are going to kill me. She won't stop saying it. But funniest is when I told her to do her homework and she said, "Dangitsauce, mama! I don't want to!" - Anika Malone

let me add what I stripped out of the post itself (I toned it down a lot from the original): Justin.tv's response to this has been pathetic. Their statement is appalling and I hope they lose users over it. - Duncan Riley
Far too much snark online. And that cold as ice response from Justin.tv is absolutely chilling. I'm with Duncan, I hope they vanish over it. - Mo Kargas
this is so absolutely terrible... lost for words. - Scott Lockhart
what's more pathetic is the response from the users in the forums and chat during this incident. whether he had been a troll in the past or not, encouraging someone to harm themselves is despicable. the internet can be a disgusting place. unfortunately, in this case, it has shown how ugly it can be. :\ - Matt Musgrave
We need to spread the knowledge that words can hurt, that ANY mention of suicide at all is NO JOKE, and that people can be tracked down by law enforcement for egging on a suicidal person. JustinTV have been rude since their inception, by the way, and their cold response is par for their course. - Christine Cavalier
Exactly Matt. The poor guy probably had some deep personal issues and required counselling, not encouraging to end himself. It makes me sick, I hope the people who encouraged this realise the full extent to what they have done. - Mo Kargas
