Alas, I see this more often than I expect.. I'm not sure if it's from old tricks just being handed down or if it's something that just got copy & pasted from code many years old. It really sticks out when you turn off images and display the alt-texts (say with the Webdeveloper toolbar). It's always good for a surprise to change the display to that, even for "normal" sites :-). - John Mueller
