Makes a good point, I have a few core people I speak to regularly there but nothing that really drives me to check out what my friends are up to on their profile other than when I want to speak to them! Or photo's that strike me as being interesting! - Joe Dawson
I tend to find that even for friends I've lost touch with, Facebook is only the initial medium to make contact. After that it all moves off Facebook to traditional email or IM. - Robin Cannon

FB lets one to blog now, I think. Not that it makes it more useful than a giant address book with an option to query for contact details. Thanks, @Robin! - Alex
