@Roberto: The same thing "Ultrasonics", "Polymer Technology", "Water Purification" are doing, I guess (I kid you not - that was just a sample of chapters from our syllabus. Sigh) - Yuvi (has IRL friends!)
I had 3d animation, games technology and all that stuff in 1st year (including one facinating class on low level computing). But never that stuff. Strange. - Roberto Bonini

it was the same in my first year. mechanical engg, electrical engg, chemistry, engg drawing and more. The excuse given is that "having some knowledge about everything makes you a better engineer." Yeah right! - Rahul Das

in fact other than an introduction to C we didn't have any computer related subjects in our first year! - Rahul Das
