With all the vitriol surrounding Spore's digital rights management scheme, it was only a matter of time before lawyers got involved. Courthouse News Service reports (via Shacknews) that a class action lawsuit has been filed against Electronic Arts in federal court, which alleges the company defrauds its customers by not disclosing the installation of SecuROM copy protection as part of Spore's installation. Interestingly, while the most vocal complaints regarding Spore's DRM have focused on the ways it limits the use of the game, this lawsuit is concerned with the fact that it exists at all. - Leo Laporte
I had no idea it has SecuROM. Guess I won't be buying it until there's a crack to remove it. I'd like my hardware to keep functioning thank you. - xero

Bizarre Morgellons remains a mystery
September 26 at 12:39 pm - msnbc.msn.com - Link
"The syndrome is being referred to as Morgellons. The name appears in a 1674 essay that describes an outbreak of “harsh hairs…unquiet symptoms…coughs and convulsions” among French children, but whether the moniker refers to the same disease is not known. Mary Leitao, a biologist in a town near Pittsburgh, found the term in a 1935 medical journal article when she was looking for an explanation for an eruption on her 2-year-old son’s lip. She went on to found the Morgellons Research Foundation, a Web-based group of self-described patients that now has more than 12,000 members." - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina) via Bookmarklet
I've heard about this, and the fact that many doctors are skeptical about it as a new condition. Looks awful to me. - Hutch Carpenter
Sounds like they're tripping. - ·[▪_▪]·
If you read the entire article, there's some interesting info regarding the fibers on the last page... It's not a full out scientific study, but fibers have been inspected by forensic experts and they've confirmed they don't appear to be man made. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
Wow I'm totally grossed out now. Creepy. - Jeff Wright
Consensus at the cigar store is that this is caused by too much Rogaine in the water supply. That could actually be somewhat accurate.. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
