My morning Diet Dr Pepper is in my own refrigerator, unless for some awful reason, I've allowed myself to RUN OUT - that's an emergency of epic proportions! - Ladybug Heather
Sheetz FTW (of course, nobody will recognize this unless they're here in the '4 state' area :) - Charlie Anzman
I live in Seattle. I think that question answers itself. :P - Rochelle
Anything I drink in the morning I make unless I buy a cherry coke from the convenient store. If I drink coffee then it's from Starbuck's and usually and afternoon thing - Kunoichi Lindsey-san
Starbucks - not coffee though. Soy Chai FTW - George Smith
Depends on the day. Usually Starbucks because we do a run there every day from the library. Jail days, I don't drink any after home. Sometimes 7-11 if I have time between the school bus pick up and work. - Alan Simpson
I make a pot at the office as soon as I get in every morning at 8:30. needless to say, the folks around the office appreciate having a fresh pot on when they get in. - Jason Kucsma
Dunkin Donuts. Barring that, 7-11 (Not as bad as you would think) - Ben Jackson

This great coffee shop around the corner from my house called Green Beans WorldCafe. Their french roast makes me wet myself. - Amanda H.
I usually get my java from the McDonald's across the street from my work or the Einstein Bagels down the street from my joint, unless I want something special, in which case I visit the Starbucks on the way to work. - Secret Ninja Steven
I've only been to Tim Hortons once, and I miss it. - Jonathan Hardesty
The problem with the coffee here at work is the same as the tea on the Heart of Gold. It's something like what I ordered, but not really. - Secret Ninja Steven
I always loved that description, Steven, "something almost, but not entirely, unlike tea." - Ladybug Heather
Tim Hortons or White Castle (no joke, they have surprisingly good coffee). - Derek Coward
Tim Horton's or Dunkin Donuts if want a quick fix, there's also a decent local drive through place, all on the same corner by me. At school it's Starbucks. Hanging around town I prefer one of two local coffee shops. - Heidi Blanton-Hansen
We need to evolve to a point where we can criticize someone's politics and not the person...to attacks on Bush, McCain, Obama, Palin and Biden have been wrong... it's time to put it behind all of us... we need to be better then that - Sean Reiser
I'm sure Bush is a nice guy. Most people in the world are generally nice. I've never commented on him as a person, although I don't agree with many of his policies, and will say so. - Ian May
Boo fricking hoo. This looks like a title from the Onion, not the Wall Street Journal. Treatment of Bush by who? How about *his* treatment of *us* and his repeated insults to our intelligence? Anyway, enough kicking a dead horse. This whole mess will be partly over with soon, and then we'll just have to clean up the huge leftovers. WSJ truly annoys me now. - Kamilah Gill
I'm sorry, but when you have arguably one of the worst (if not THE worst) presidencies in the history of the US, raise cronyism to heights never dreamed about even in the Clinton era, and bungle every thing you've attempted to do (name me one GOOD thing he's succeeded at), you deserve the ridicule and scorn of the nation you screwed over. - Alex Scoble CISSP
Ironically, there is more anger on the winning side. Sadly liberal does not mean gracious, or even tolerant. - "Oldengrey" Tannenbaum
"The Treatment of [fill-in-the-blank] Has Been a Disgrace" - MikeAmundsen
Since when is telling the truth about someone "disgraceful treatment"? Or expressing an opinion about them? I looked at this article and can't believe they had the gall to print it with this title. I'll try to stop. I just have some residual anger about the last 8 years, even though I know relief should be coming soon. Disgraceful treatment: Katrina, for one of many examples. - Kamilah Gill
@Jay: you made me smile, man. thanks. - MikeAmundsen
I've actually met him, so I can say anything I want about him. - Kunoichi Lindsey-san
Oh please. Do you not grouse when you see a really bad movie? Are we supposed to say, hey, never mind the taking away of privacy, of not actually catching the real terrorists, or taking us to war on bogus information, or of forcing the EPA to change text in scientific reports etc. Sorry, I don't believe criticism and dissent is a disgrace, I think it's an American right. - AJ Kohn
The treatment of Bush has not been a disgrace. The disgrace is Bush's treatment of the US. - Alex Scoble CISSP
Leave this debate to the historians, there is work to be done. - Geoff Schultz
We must harvest the wheat for the collective farm before the first snow. ;) - "Oldengrey" Tannenbaum
You know, I'm fairly certain that we have been arguing the fact that GW hasn't done anything good in his 8 years for a few months now and I am also fairly certain that not one person did what you just did, Michael. Kudos to you. OK, so Bush did something good. Man...what's with people bringing sharp objects onto my balloons. - Alex Scoble CISSP
Only valid because a European points it out in the article, I guess. - "Oldengrey" Tannenbaum
We respect Truman *now* (even when we didn't then) because we now recognize his accomplishments, which we did not recognize then: Uniting the West against the Soviets, the Berlin Airlift, integrating the military, making the difficult decision to drop the atom bomb on Japan, completing the victory of World War II. What has Bush accomplished that we should respect? I'll start with a gimme: He's vastly increased aid to Africa to fight AIDS. Anything else? - Mitch Wagner
From the link provided by Michael: ' Bush adds, "One thing I will say: Human suffering should preempt commercial interest." ' -> Best thing to ever come W's mouth, and a sentiment that I really wish more people would take to heart. His administration included =/ - Stupid Ninja (aka Tina)
Maybe I can hate him less. But I'm never going to like him. I don't recall this any sort of magnanimity from the right when they crapped all over Bill Clinton. And he didn't ruin the country. - Victor Ganata
Jay, what makes the article convincing, in my opinion, is that it relies on straightforward reporting of facts, including many quotes straight out of Bush's mouth. He quadrupled aid to Africa, with bipartisan support including people like Kerry and Frist(!) He speaks intelligently on why aid is needed, and why it's in the US' interest. The fact that Geldof is European and liberal is, I guess, interesting background, but it's small potatoes compared with the quality of the article. - Michael Nielsen
Michael: Thanks for posting the Time piece. I was being facetious about the European part. It is very hard for some people to see the full spectrum here. - "Oldengrey" Tannenbaum
I'm kinda upset dude didn't investigate further. Maybe he thought the guys were scarier than I do. I would have been all kinds of nosy. "Is that guy like, Silent Bob? How come he isn't talking? You guys getting paid for this? Hey, could you guys do a little pose for my blog?" - ♫ Rahsheen ™ ★
@Rahsheen The dude was obviously scared and intimidated. Listen to the opening seconds of the video as he asks his buddy if he's "got his back". - Shey
Oh! That's what he said. I didn't make it out. Sounded like "Bag" - ♫ Rahsheen ™ ★
What a great way to start my Monday morning...laughing! - Far
Oh, I do #1 all the time. Sometimes I start with "Sorry for the delay". - Bora Zivkovic
I got a laugh out of that. Thanks for posting, Louis! BTW, I've just subscribed to your preeminent blog and bookmarked your blog post on Delicious! - J. D. Ebberly
One I forgot to do was to have all your status updates hit each other in a never ending loop. - Louis Gray
Why doesn't my weather person on my local channels look like that. I might actually watch local news if she was on there. I'm boycotting my local news stations until this discrimination against beautiful women is stopped! - Jason Shultz

That sandwich would most definitely be thrown away. - Kenya
To all of the nay sayers, I think most people *WOULD NOT TOUCH IT* so they couldn't throw it away or anything else. They would just leave it there for someone else to deal with. - Andrew Baron
@Andrew it's a possibility, but I toss stuff out in the office fridge because I don't want mold to somehow get involved with my food... - Ben Jackson

@ben, you should be careful, you are the most likely to be exposed to unsuspecting growth, a total biohazard. Please leave that stuff alone and let someone else deal with it, you could be seriously injured. - Andrew Baron
if you need any other advice or have ANY questions get in touch! - Michael J. Cohen (mjc)
btw; shelters (as opposed to foster homes) produce very difficult to manage pets. you might want to look on http://www.petfinder.com to find a foster home style rescue center. - Michael J. Cohen (mjc)
Get 2 cats if you can, so they can entertain each other; preferably a pair of males (they are nicer and easier to take care of ) - RAPatton
@Michael Often shelters incorporate foster homes into their caretaking. (At least the ones I've run into in MA) - Ben Jackson

Michael - Thanks! The cat apparently has had a behavioral analysis done. We'll see. I fell in love with him when I first saw him. My coworker and I are going to meet him today. Unless we have immediate chemistry I am not taking him home. My neighbor runs a Mainecoon foster and is trying to talk me into one of those... but I want a short-hair if I get one. - Jennifer Leggio
Love cats, agree with RAPatton about two vs one, but definitely prefer females. Not as territorial. The key to remember with cats is to be a little aloof and let them come to you on their terms. . - Lorraine Ball
RAPatton - I'll start with one but that's good advice. And I've heard that about male cats so I am leaning in that direction anyway. I don't want my apartment running amok of cats! hehe - Jennifer Leggio
Cats entertain themselves, what with the internet and all. - stretta
via twhirl
Not sure. :( I have to go back Monday night. - Jennifer Leggio
More seriously, I got two cats on the 'they'll entertain each other theory' and it turned out to be 2x the amount of work. They hated and avoided each other. Just get a laser pointer and tape it to a slinky and hang that from the ceiling. You'll be fine. - stretta

One more thing. Cats are the result of a cosmic prison sentence from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Some creature comprised entirely of pure evil got caught, emasculated and placed in the body of something cute and adorable and furry. So, while they're in your lap and purring, just keep in mind that they're continuously plotting how they're going to kill you. Cats also don't need to eat. That's a ruse. There is this energy field that is produced between you and something you're interested in, like a computer or newspaper. Cats gain sustenance by passing through this field over and over. - stretta

I got my cat, Prince Tuesday, from a humane rescue organization, someone else gave him up. I'd had him for 12 years. He's the best, always good, always talkative, always wanting to be with us. Not all rescue cats are bad. - JoEllen
You must at least eventually own a cat called "cheeky monkey". - Amber aka SDA
If this deal goes down, Twitter would be smart to state that the timing goes hand-in-hand with its in-progress back-end reconstruction, rather than merely claiming Summize as a new feature. User loyalty may depend on it. - Jennifer Leggio
I wish friendfeed would let you embed graphics. Probably would be abused too much though. In all seriousness this move leaves me with deep worries about Twitter management... - Ben Jackson
via twhirl
Yes, its priorities are in order. The Summize guys are pretty smart, obviously, so why wouldn't Twitter want them on board? - Mack D. Male
Mack: But what is the opportunity cost to Twitter? They net summize, but would that money be better spent on infrastructure upgrades? (IMNSHO, Yes) - Ben Jackson

@Ben You can if you use the FF Bookmarklet - Jennifer Leggio
The bookmarklet allows you to double click on three (3) photos or graphics. FF is my only blog. - Russellreno
Ben: You can only spend so much money on hardware. Eventually the system itself needs to be fixed...the software...the code. For that, you need people who know what they are doing. - Mack D. Male
doesn't it really just depend on the price? $15mil in the bank, lots of equity. they have a lot to play with right now, and small acquisitions are the smart move. - Jeremy Toeman
