"A diabetic Detroit man was mistaken for a drunken driver by Allen Park and Dearborn police, and brutally beaten to the point that he had to have part of his brain surgically removed, the man’s wife and their attorney allege." - Jasmin Smith
Oh that is horrible. :( I have lots of family members with diabetes. I can't imagine what the family is going through. - Carmen
I feel sorry for all sides involved in this situation. - Alex Scoble CISSP
Sadly not an isolated incident (the mistaken for drunk aspect). Makes me sick. - Patricia Hanrahan
likewise Carmen. Before my mom started micro-managing my dad's diabetes it wasn't uncommon for him to circle our neighbourhood several times in his car looking for our house and not finding it because his blood sugar levels had gotten too low. - Jasmin Smith
I'm glad your mom is able to keep his diabetes under control now. It can be very scary! - Carmen
aww.. thanks Mona! you're so sweet! - Jasmin Smith
I'm just buttering you up in case McCain wins. I'm gonna have to move to Canada. First place to crash? Jas and Shey's Abode! ;) But seriously, your smile is infectious. I love that. - Mona N.
lol! as long as you know that after our election next month we'll have another Conservative government, but don't worry, unlike the US, Canadian Conservatives are VERY moderate! Our couch is yours if you need it! - Jasmin Smith

I don't believe in sex addicts. That's just another label to excuse lack of discipline and or self control. - Mona N.
Meh, there are true sex addicts, but there are just as many (if not more) who use the term as an easy excuse. Pun may or may not be intended. - Stupid Ninja (aka Tina)
What is a true sex addict? Like a defunct chromosome or something? Unless it's scientifically proven, it's a crock of shit to me. ;) - Mona N.
Mona, I'm ambivalent about the idea of inclusive sex addiction. However, I've personally known people who are 'sex addicts' although their 'addiction' most likely points to other psychological problems. - Akiva Moskovitz
True sex addicts are addicted to the dopamine and adrenaline rush they get from the persuit of sex and from 'risky' sex, not the physical act of sex itself. In some ways the sex winds up being like Christmas afternoon: so much buildup and it's just not as good as you expected. - Stupid Ninja (aka Tina)
Re: Sarah Palin, "In a more thoughtful age, feminists would have adopted her as a great success story. But because she fights on the wrong side of the culture wars -- which is to say, the one that values unborn children and human freedom -- today's left calls her a "hillbilly" and turns up its nose." - Jasmin Smith
