I now watch less TV with the DVR than I did without it...for one thing I am able to watch TV around my schedule, plus cut out the commercials and I am much more selective about the TV that I watch now...These are all things that are much harder to do without a DVR, in my opinion. - Alex "Maverick" Scoble

I've actually stopped watching a lot of main stream shows and are watching low end cable shows like monk, psych, dirty jobs, and myth busters. Probably less - I find that by missing the commercials for other shows, I'm much less attuned to new shows that I might otherwise be interested in. It's not until I hear about it through the grapevine that I look to watch it. I watch the same. I began recording shows that I had meant to watch but erased them because they were just piling up. I thought by having a DVR (in Canada, it's called a PVR) I could watch more shows, but I have the same amount of time, not more. It's made it easier to skip the commercials. - Bonnie Dean

Decreased because of cutting out commercials and not watching TV waiting for something I want to see to come on. Between Netflix and my DVR I always have something that I want to watch when I am in the mood. I get to decide when that is so all the better. Except for sports, I watch nothing live anymore.
