There is no possible way Facebook can replace FriendFeed. The primary reason for this is that they are two different things. For instance, you don't even have a profile page here on FriendFeed and on Facebook, you can only "follow" people who let you. I don't even think you can interact with people outside of your circle. While I admit that my usage on Facebook has increased heavily recently, I think of Facebook as a tool for a more personal relationship, but there is little way of gaining new friends. I have the HTC Mogul. I wish the camera took better pictures, and the memory issues can be annoying; otheriwse, I'd love it. ATT has dead spots all over the place, including a really long section of between Midland and Lubbock (where the in-laws live). T-Mobile is just as bad, if not worse! Sprint's been mostly good to me, thank goodness. Not to mention I get a discount on my plan because of my employer. My co-worker was told by an AT&T rep that there will be no discount for iPhone plans. RSS subscribers are good for one or two things. Assuming that they don't visit your blog, then it is only one reason. It is a nice statistic to flaunt to advertisers. It might be silly of advertisers to trust such numbers, but hey, people got to make money. Microsoft has been ignoring Apple for the past decade. Apple has been gaining market share. It's not desperation. It's aggressive marketing that isn't offensive toward the other company. Yes, I actually already do. I've been an eMusic subscriber for about 9 years now. I pay $192 per year for 90 tracks per month. VBR MP3 and no DRM. Beats the crap out of iTunes any day. They don't usually have the latest pop music, but I'm not into that anyway. Have lots of vintage Rock, Jazz, Blues as well of tons of recent work from great artists than most people have not heard of as they are independant or signed with obscure labels off the main stream. - Jeff P.
