nice... I remember reading somewhere for a company that will offer genetic screening like 23andMe's at 100$... but I guess what you buy extra with 23andMe is the informatics that comes with your genetics... - Ntino

Whoa ... apparently we can do UIs - Deepak via Bookmarklet
Almost, Deepak. Audio should ALWAYS be user-selected. My first reaction when loading a page that starts to make noise is to close it. Is there a way to choose a blurb/sample you want to hear, with the site being silent until then? Also, it doesn't work for me in FF, but works great in chrome. This is probably a plug-in conflict. - Mr. Gunn
OK, I see the mute button now, but it doesn't work(in chrome). Please impress upon them the need for the clips to default to the off position, making no noise until the user presses the play button. - Mr. Gunn
I have no idea which team did this, so don't even know whom to talk to. But they're taking feedback (I suspect this is in early beta right now, so fire away at 'em) - Deepak

Well, but HCLS and bioinformatics is not the web. They are specialized datasets from a community somewhat used to vocabularies and metadata. - Deepak
And its hardly the first time that some form of semantic whatsit has been used to unearth results from biological data. The _problem_ is that the technology gets buried in the paper IMO. But there is definitely a communication problem as well. - Cameron Neylon
