Lion pride gets a chilly awakening as temperatures plunge below zero across the UK

"There's nothing a lion likes better than stretching out in the sun to take a lazy afternoon nap. But if they had any hopes of warm weather, this pride in Scotland were in for a big disappointment when temperatures dropped below zero yesterday. The shivering group of lions certainly don't look too impressed with the cold, as they prowl on the icy grass at the Blair Drummond Safari Park near Stirling. The freezing conditions couldn't be more different from the semi-arid plains of their native Africa. And unfortunately they'll have to get used to the cold, as forecasters have warned temperatures are set to plunge as low as minus 8C in the north of Britain. But the chilly beasts were in for another seasonal surprise to raise their spirits. Staff brightened up the twelve-strong lion pride enclosure for St Andrews day by decorating it with the Scottish national flag." - Cee Bee via Bookmarklet

Megan? Awesome. Morena? Maybe... but she just isnt physical enough. The other one? Hell no. Allow me to suggest Olivia Munn :) - Soulhuntre via twhirl
Olivia Munn is overrated. I don't think Megan fox is a good choice either, since WW is supposed to look regal (which Fox is not). Morena would be okay, if they get her a personal trainer. - Jason Huebel
Olivia Munn is talentless. Cobie actually LOOKS like Wonder Woman and is a great actor. Megan Fox is a good actor, but she just doesn't fit the part. I guess I could see Morena in the part, but I still prefer Cobie. She's strong and gorgeous. - Mattie Kenny
Who can make the wings flap? - Andrew Leyden
hey... what about beyonce? *ducks* - Sean Reiser
I would totally do Morena. OMG, she is beautiful. Wonder Woman, though, I'm just not sure. - Ladybug Heather
What is the young lady from 'Firefly' name? She is on the far left. I think she would be good. - Amani
Robin looks like a good WW, though not really athletic enough. Fox would be my choice for the eye candy factor. She would sell more tix. - Matt Musgrave
The actress from Firefly's name is Morena Baccarin http://www.imdb.com/name/nm107... - Alex Scoble CISSP
I don't think she has to look buff...she just has to be fairly tall and not be a stick. - Alex Scoble CISSP

I'm with Heather. Morena. - Carmen
(Me too, Sean. I'm all atwitter now.) - Ladybug Heather
In my opinion of the three only Cobie Smulders is tall enough to be Wonder Woman. Although really the actress playing her should be 5'10" or taller...she's supposed to be an Amazon for pete's sake. 5'6" is far too short and 5'7" isn't much better. - Alex Scoble CISSP
number 3...i'm in love all over again. - Zee.
actually Heather right now your aFriendFeed... twitter is that other service - Sean Reiser
I'm sorry, people. Lynda Carter is, and always will be, Wonder Woman. Now GET OFF MY LAWN! - John Craft
None of these say: "Hey, I'm an Amazon" My vote is Rosario Dawson - Bwana
Lucy Lawless, Gena Davis and Famke Janssen all would have been good choices when they were a bit younger, although perhaps still good choices for the role. Liv Tyler would be OK, but she's not that great of an actress IMO. But Charlize Theron would be perfect. - Alex Scoble CISSP
Of course, everyone conveniently forgets that the Amazons cut off their right breasts for better archery. All of these women seem well-balanced. :-P - Ladybug Heather
if hollywood's involved we'll get Alicia Silverstone - Sean Reiser
@Ladybug, OK then Megan Fox it is. Her boobs aren't real anyway. - Jason Huebel

If they have never done anything before and my partner is a trustworthy person, then I wouldn't mind. - Shevonne Polastre

Well said, Jason. - Grant Fitzgerald

Does one's sexual orientation affect the answer to this? I know some gay men, for sure, who rock that whole 'What happens in Vegas' type of attitude (and sadly gives pause for those who think gays can't rock monogamy and shouldn't get married). - Derrick
Gotta have trust. If your partner is going to wander or be unfaithful, they're going to do it at some point. If you're relationship is rock steady, it'll never go any further than lust in the mind. Of course, some say, that's being unfaithful too. - Ian May
who cares, and why? important questions - Gregory Lent
+Jason - Carmen
I think it would be inappropriate unless you're in an open relationship. This isn't simply about trust, it's about how staying with this person makes you feel (or how it would make your partner feel). Generally speaking, if you really love a person you take their feelings into account. Again, it's not about jealousy or trust, it's about the fact that there is sexual chemistry present - the "interest" between them isn't neutral. But it really depends on the couple. - V for Veselka
I would be concerned that my SO would think that was okay, and would be concerned that they'd do it - even when I trusted them - because it's a damned uncomfortable situation. While trust is necessary, testing that trust is inappropriate. - ωαřмaiden
What Jason Said. - Parth Awasthi
I'd be somewhat opposed. Regardless of jealousy or trust it is about whether a situation looks appropriate... and to me it barely passes the smell test. - Nation Hahn
I'm not sure this passes the "appearance of impropriety" test. - ha3rvey
THis is definitely not a trust issue to me. It is not appropriate for my girl to stay with a dude who she is not related to by blood...period. I wouldn't stay with a chick, either. It's just not appropriate. - ♫ Rahsheen ™ ★
I should note that I have lost a girlfriend in a similar scenario but that shit's on them. I'm simply not going to police a grown ass person's activities. Your best friend could be Porny McSuperDick but if we're together, I'm like Halle Berry in Boomerang and I assume you know what Love is. - Jason Toney
Jason, you owe me a keyboard sir! - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
And we have to give ourselves wiggle room for jealousy, no? We are aware of that and what it can do. But then there's trust. This is a tough one for me. - Derrick
Inappropriate, IMHO. - Katie
+10 jason for "porny mcsuperdick." i tell him i'm not as okay with it as i'd be if you stayed in a hotel and just hope i don't have to slash his tires later.* (*i'm not really the tire slashing type. i might want to, but i'll be damned if i wind up on "judge mathis" giving my money to some fool i don't like.) - tiffany
Hellafied LOL @ JT - Derrick
I think I may be caught up on the word "stance". If you feel it's inappropriate or there are pangs of jealousy, there's a conversation to be had, no? Ideally, your S.O. either respects your feelings and understands that you're that kind of person and so doesn't want to give you that heartache...or, you're being silly, and a conversation will mete that out and you'll feel better about the situation. - Jason Toney
B. Brown, I do have celebrity judges on speed dial. Just so you know :-) Any excuse to go on The People's Court. - Jason Toney
weird answers, it's just sex, who cares? - Gregory Lent
I do agree that you must have the trust, but in another way I do feel that if you're in a committed relationship and you do trust him, it's still kinda uncomfortable situation to me. You know they may not act on the feelings but they're still there and anything even by accident can still happen. I don't like that at all. I love my hubby and trust him completely but you don't know what the other person has in mind. - Sheryl
@Derrick: I'm straight, I'm just realistic. Something like 2/3 of people cheat or get cheated on at some point in their lives. I don't think of myself as polyamorous or anything, but I'd rather have a relationship where we can be open and honest about any feelings/sexual desires for other people, and I'd rather something happen with my knowledge and consent. A good relationship should be more than (and not wholly dependent upon) sexual exclusivity. - Eric P
I'm trying to figure out how this is inappropriate. That's free room and board! The responses are funny to me because "trust" wasn't even the first thing to come to mind. I'd be more concerned that my husband cleaned up after himself and brought a nice gift to the hostess. - Anika Malone
Five points to Faboo Mama. - Jason Toney
JT sometimes, your S.O. will try to minimize your feelings. and sometimes the person feeling jealous needs to check him/herself. i know i tend towards jealous (and tend to hurt deeply and for a long time). i also know that this could be some trouble waiting to happen. so my middle way is "this makes me uncomfortable. i'm not going to fight about it. i just hope that i mean more to you than some pretty cooch." - tiffany
Go Eric P, and LOL @ Anika (as usual) - Derrick
He can do what he deems best; if he strays, he's not mine. - MiɳiMagɘ (AlwaysMiniMage)
Dude, tell your dude you would rather he didn't stay there, and if he does, it's likely to piss you off. This just sounds like an excuse for an "accident" to happen. If you get in a big argument over this, it may be because they really did want to see if anything would happen. - Chris White
+10 chris - tiffany
I'd be uncomfy if it happened during one of my insecure days or weeks. I'd expect them to fool around and would be willing to forgive & forget it. We all have weak moments and I would hope the same consideration is extended to me. Of course I've yet to meet the person who inspires that level of committment for me anyway so what do I know... - J. Nez
Chris, this is just a hypothetical. Throwing it out there for the sake of discussion. - Derrick
Answer's always the same-a ring on the finger, champagne on ice, 1 man to show the best part of life, a solid foundation built out of trust-lyrics from What a woman needs. - Mrsth
Like JT, I'm also not down to monitor someone's motives / actions. If you cheat, you cheat. You're just out the door once you do. It takes a long time for me to trust in someone... and in a relationship, i expect just as much from the other - and for him to realize that we have nothing to worry about if this type of situation arises. The reality is that we will always find other people attractive, whether we are committed or not. The key is to feel confident in the relationship, in each other. - Melissa

Justin Long posted a message
“How do you go about finding a person to follow that is of real value to you--when "real value" may be something entirely tangential? perhaps several "degrees" away from you? What's your strategy for separating wheat from chaff? for finding needles in a haystack? for finding a "real friend"?”
Tuesday at 7:11 am - Link
The dunbar number says you can have at most 15 friends. Would it be possible to follow, say, just 15 people on friendfeed (taking into account friend-of-a-friend) and get all the information you "really need"? - Justin Long
Friendship isn't about need: need-based relationships are about dependency, "I need to be friends with this guy because he does X" or "I need to know this person because they are Y." Once that need is satisfied, there's no basis for the friendship. So establishing criteria for what makes a Friendship beyond very loose principles creates weak relationships: what happens when your "friend" stops meeting one of those criteria? You stop being friends with them? That's not something people consider valuable: people call that being a fair-weather friend. Friendship is one of the few goods that one finds oneself in rather than looking for because of this. If you look for friendship, you will never find it. - Mark Trapp
Hm. That's a good point. What you're describing is not what I had in mind, but I can see that once again definitions and semantics are important. Part of the problem on FF of course is that just because you follow someone doesn't mean there is a "friendship" tie that automatically enables interaction..... - Justin Long
Might it be a better strategy to follow or interact with LOTS of people shallowly... or with FEW people with greater DEPTH? Probably the two strategies are equally valid, but how does one choose which strategy is more valuable? - Justin Long
Social networks don't, at least currently, describe friendships. Because of their inability to capture what friendship is, they have been adapted by their users to what amounts to a convention. Do you wind up meeting someone at a convention that eventually you become friends with? Sure. Do you wind up becoming friends with everyone at a convention? No. Does the convention do anything for the friendships you do create beyond facilitating the initial interaction? Not really. Two people forming a real friendship after meeting on a social network is no more notable had they met in an
