I hope you were all sending IMs to each other. - Shawn Farner
no shawn - they were all on friendfeed liking each other's stuff :) btw what mac laptop is the woman in the middle btw the two guys using? looks small - Allen Stern
1) Nobody was using IM. 2) At one point, my brother asked us to play a Monopoly game online (much faster than the board game) and 3) the MacBook being used in the middle is one of the new 13.3" models, while we have the 15.2" Pro versions. - Louis Gray
It's true. All of my offspring are Macfans. What you grow up with is important. - Phil Boiarski
okay .. I don't know about anyone else but this is frikken scary (in a good funny kind of way (I think)) ... LOL - Steven Hodson
Heck, other than the apple logos, looks like my living room on a typical afternoon -- wife, stepdaughter and I all bathed in the light of our laptop screens . . . I guess we aren't as weird as we thought! 8-) - LJF Wolffe
we play boardgames around christmas - right low tech - Joelle Nebbe
If smart is genetic, being a Mac-fan must be :P - ·[▪_▪]·
Anyone's free hand occupied with an iPod / iPhone, too? - Jason Kaneshiro
Same as my family. All got mac laptops. a couple of mac mini's and g4 cubes around too :) - Simon Wicks
True, Jason... not pictured would include my mother's Mac desktop and laptop, my wife's laptop, my iPhone, my sister's iPhone, and a small variety of iPods also in the house. - Louis Gray
Cult of Gray. But I say it's nurture not nature. :) - Josh Haley
You can't win against it. You can free yourself from it. There is hope. - Ryo
But are they all running Windows Vistas on those Macs? ;) - Jemm
love it! amazing... you guys do like your Macs ...I guess :) hehehee! - Susan Beebe
Funny! That's exactly what my brother's house looked like for a couple of hours after Christmas dinner. Well, except that he has a Mac and I don't. :-( - Lisa L. Seifert
Love the pic. Looks like our house- more variety on the mac front iBook, MBP, mini - Elliot Christenson
Season one is available on netflix instant play so for those, like me, without cable, you can make your own marathon :) And season 1-3 are at cbs.com. I love the internets. - ·[▪_▪]·
Twilight Zone is on Netflix's Watch Now Service. I watched an episode about a guy who went back in time to when he was a boy and freaked his parents out the other night. - Thomas Hawk
I had such plans for today (namely, my own "marathon" with the DVDs I got for Christmas), but instead... seems I can't resist getting sucked into the Twilight Zone. - The Bohemian Penguin
"....that's the sign post up ahead....your next stop...the Twilight Zone" LOVE IT! :-D - Live4Soccer
This little kid is screwed. Remember when children were allowed to be just that, and not little profit machines for crazy parents? - Derrick
How old is that kid? I'm tempted to call Photoshop just because it doesn't seem right that kids that young should be able (physically/hormonally) to develop that kind of muscle definition. - Rochelle
It really depends on the genes, Rochelle. My adopted brother was pretty much born with a washboard stomach. And looked buff even when he spent most of his time watching TV. If he'd actually done weight training at that age, he would have looked like this, I'm sure. - Spidra Webster
Rochelle, I've seen him on local TV. Sadly it's real. Including the dollar signs in the dad's eyes. - Derrick
I saw a story on this kid years ago. I'm not sure how old he is now but at an early age he was on a strict diet and had intense training. He seemed to love it though but his Dad was certainly the driving force. - Rodfather
+D...This poor kid's dad is SO WRONG. :( - Anna Haro
There's no doubt in my mind there's psychological damage from that, but I find myself wondering if there's anything physically damaging about it. I suppose if he's overtraining...there's fatigue involved there. (edit: just now saw the post about a strict diet...yeah, that could cause a lot of damage). - Spidra Webster
baby fat is important- I think this is photoshopped. His face doesn't match - anna
anna, take a look at bodybuilder photos. There are plenty of bodybuilders where their face looks like it was pasted on. Here's a photo from a natural bodybuilding site (they don't use steroids and such) http://www.liftforlife.com/tra... The head doesn't "grow" when you bodybuild. - Spidra Webster
From what I remember, he did have balance in his diet. 1/3 protein, 1/3 carbs, 1/3 fats or something like that. That's better than kids loading up on Pop Tarts. The training might be bad. It might have stunted his growth. - Rodfather
I agree, Rodfather. Probably stunted his growth, definitely some psychological shit from his "stage father", but physically a lot better than many kids. Hell, physically a lot better than me. - Spidra Webster
but he will be screwed up at 20... I bet ya... - Rob Sellen
the picture is real - his story has been a bit of a scandal - apparently his father fed him steroids when he was very young to get the body at that age (yes, dollar signs) - I think he's natural now, and still looks good, but looks more his age - the kid's dad is in prison (or was, might be out now) - William Harryman
he will be fuked up at 20... body wise, and mentally. - Rob Sellen
Fed him steroids? Jesus. Yeah, that guy SHOULD have gone to jail. - Spidra Webster
Spirda, "natural body building" mostly means they aren't on drugs the day of the show - most use steroids and sometimes growth hormone the rest of the year - William Harryman
ALL of them use steriods... you CANNOT get a body like that without it. ;o) - Rob Sellen
You probably know more than I do but my impression was that while there are people who probably cheat (as there are everywhere in the world), the folks who are into natural bodybuilding are in there on principle. Obviously it would be easier for them to just hang out in the much larger "non-natural" bodybuilding world if they didn't care about keeping clean. - Spidra Webster
Depends on what kinda body you're talking about. There are natural bb'ers and you can see the obvious differences - Rahsheen ™
Rob, I'm telling you my brother has one and doesn't use. He got a *very* good hand when Life was dealing out genes. - Spidra Webster
I tell you your brother is NO way as definied as they are... it cant be done. ;o) - Rob Sellen
it depends on the event - there are very clean, drug-tested events and organizations, and some of those guys look great - but there are also "natural" shows that are not so strict and so clean, and for those not familiar with the events, it's hard to know which is which - William Harryman
nothing like it is with steriods tho... ;o) - Rob Sellen
all that body building will have strained his heart.. the kid will have a stroke in his late 20's/early 30's... Something about the BB scene I detest is the obsession with proteins and whey. It's screwing their bodies over! - alphaxion
Rob, you're deluded. I'm looking at the photo of the kid up there. Perhaps you're looking at a photo of some pneumatic nightmare that gobbles steroids? If that's the case, I agree my brother doesn't look like that. Thank god. - Spidra Webster
alphaxion, body building as a lifestyle, including high protein intake, is a VERY healthy way to live - makes the heart stronger, reduces cholesterol, builds bone density, reduces diabetes and cancer risk - nothing at all wrong with protein and whey - William Harryman
I'm searching, now. According to what I've read, the father was jailed for breaking his wife's bones. After he went to jail, the kid's physique became less chiseled. Nothing so far on whether steroid use was proven. - MiɳiMagɘ is EnderMage
I'm interested (in a gross/medical way) that with normal kids, the stored fat/fat ratio goes to other organs and mental/hormonal development instead of muscles. So for this kid, what's being deprived? I fear it's bone density, organs, or worse brain development. Also, probably being on such a regimented schedule is depressing and too strict- he's not having active fun curiosity and play time. Probably very stressed, as well. Sad. - anna
LIke Nadya the gymnast, and other gymnasts, the overdeveloment of musclature comes at a cost to other things- like hormone balance- I think she was short in stature, issues that affected her weight, - anna
Always =D I cheat and buy canned greens but I'm making the black eyed peas from scratch. Everyone at the store was buying canned beans and fresh collards =P Really, how hard is it to soak beans, people? We'll be using saltpork instead of hamhock b/c Dave thinks it'll work better (prediction: it won't). Also serving dirty rice and smoked sausage with peppers and onions. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
I'm doing a traditional New Orleans red beans & rice New Year's Day. Need to get off my duff and get the crock pot going, too. - Akiva Moskovitz
I'm southern and I eat black eyed peas on New Year's but not collards. Yours look good! - Trish R
These aren't mine, but I wish they were: I'm nibbly! I'll try to get a shot of ours tonight when everything's ready. And we're doing red beans and rice / dirty rice today too, Akiva. The more food the better! - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
My mom used to cook the best black eyed peas on New Years day. Then again, we ate them and greens year round - Bwana
We're year round too, Bwana. What started out as poor food (well, still is really) has become Southern food, which other parts of the country apparently call soul food. Call it what you want, but fried chicken, biscuits, real macaroni pie, sweet potato souffle, fried yellow squash, pinto beans, and a pot of something green is the best Sunday dinner EVER. And yes, Sunday dinner is served in the middle of the day. Supper is at night =D - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
Tell me that cornbread was cooked in cast iron? - Mandy
Don't know about the cornbread in the pic (cause it's not mine), but mine wasn't because I don't have one =( - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
TINA. There's no excuse to not have at least a 6 inch cast iron skillet. If you hurry up and get one, I won't tell anybody. - Paul Reynolds
That's true Paul, but as I have no oven I still wouldn't be able to cook cornbread in it... - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
I *gasp* don't have one, not sure who inherited my grandmother's, the corn bread just made me miss her. - Mandy
"As TorrentFreak points out, the figures are even more remarkable among men aged 18-29, where The Pirate Party polls a staggering 55%. If an election was to take place today, The Pirate Party would poll higher than the Greens, resulting in over 19 seats in the Swedish Parliament..." - Anthony Citrano
These piracy laws are just getting weirder and weirder here in Sweden, with the FRA-law and IPRED-law... - Patrik Johansson
“I never really ask for invites, but if anyone has an extra ffffound invite, I'd love to snag it from you. [Edited because I started getting emails from people asking me for an invite. Kinda rude.]”
hey, this is like the 15th time i've asked in this room, so if anyone's feeling generous, i'd also appreciate one (ultrasur1@gmail.com) -- thanks! - Cee Bee
I too would love if anyone could help a brother out. markwilson12 @ gmail dot com - Mark Wilson
Yeah, I discovered it a few days ago. http://friendfeed.com/e/ec2389... Also, on Digg entries there's an option to go the actual Digg page. I just noticed that it puts the source URL of the link in the details for an entry a couple of days ago too. - Paul Reynolds
Nicely animated cgi asteroid impact to the music of pink floyd's "the great gig in the sky" (dark side of the moon) I don't know where the map came from? - Michael Fidler

Well, it works for me. I call it INSTA-CHEER! Makes the holidays very merry. :D - Anna Haro
Get drunk and pass ornaments to random people? - Rodfather
@Rodfather Yeah, maybe that should do it hehe - Patrik Johansson
Same here. And not even Oslo. Maybe we're proof of the nordic drunk and depressed stereotype. Only not drunk (yet). - Thomas Bøhm
Hehe we must be! I'm not drunk yet either (yet). But hang on, we'll get there! We may have to move to Greenland if we want some snow for Christmas... - Patrik Johansson
Yeah whats up with the snow?! Its windy, cold and ice all around, but I can't ski. Hope it suddenly snows a lot tonight. - Thomas Bøhm
The damn climate change....I don't ski, but I want the snow in winter, especially during Christmas! - Patrik Johansson
Hehe, I apparantely had Tom Waits song "Home I'll never be" in the background while watching this. I didn't knew it at first. This video were even better with the song:) - Patrik Johansson
I miss him too!! He was one of my favorite people to *like* :) sad... - Susan Beebe
Seemed like I just saw him on here the other day.... - Kamilah Gill

I think the mother ship called him home for Christmas. - jlt (janet)
"If I was writing a note to my neighbours saying that I was going to have a party but none of them could come, I would not add photos of ecstasy tablets, beer and gratuitous shots of Lucius going down on men to show them what they are missing out on." hahahahaha - Jessie
