There are some good tips in this entry. However, instead of being prepared for 3 to 6 months without employment, be prepared for up to 18. But don't do that whole time on savings; have a back up plan (starting a business, consulting, lower paying job, etc). Also, remember that many executives are NOT tapped into online networking. More are on LinkedIn than Facebook, but by no means all, and those that are have probably joined more from peer pressure than recognition of any value.
