Battlestar Galactica Gets British Man Arrested
October 6 at 6:00 pm - via Bookmarklet - Link
From io9: "The alert was raised by another lorry driver who followed Trotsman as he travelled north through Cumbria on the night of 11 December, the court heard. Trotsman's Poundstretcher lorry was speeding up, slowing down, and veering onto the hard shoulder... Adrienne Harris, prosecuting, told the court that traffic officer Sgt Paul Brown could see Trotman's truck veering across the road and pulled him over north of Penrith to investigate. She said: "There was a laptop on the dashboard. A number of files under the name Battlestar Galactica were displayed and the media application was running."" - Mark Trapp via Bookmarklet

From io9: "Oh those crazy Battlestar Galactica survivorsand their wild sex parties. It seems like nothing gets them hotter than the near-total annihilation of the human race. The BSG "yearbook" that the cast and crew received at the show's wrap party includes a "frak tree" showing who's had sex with whom. You can't see it, because it contains spoilers for the show's final episodes. But brilliant fan Crazyvictoria compiled her own glorious version." - Mark Trapp via Bookmarklet

From io9: "There are many, many reasons to wish that you'd worked on Sci Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica: -the critical kudos, the security of being involved in one of television's best SF shows ever, the possibility of being in the same room as Grace Park at some point - but the wrap party's special limited edition yearbook may be the prettiest reason of them all. Is it too much to ask that this tribute to the cast and crew of the show gets some kind of modified general release when the series reaches its conclusion next year?" - Mark Trapp via Bookmarklet

BSG's Cylons Were Originally Daleks With Legs
September 19 at 8:57 am - via Bookmarklet - Link
Originally the Galactica motion picture (for overseas distribution) was filmed with dialog explaining that the Cylons were creatures. They were blind and created helmet scanners to see. That explains the helmets... The living Cylons were changed to robots for the TV series because of an hourly body-count limitation for prime-time television. There was, however, no limit to how many robots could be ‘killed’ per hour so they became robots and dialog was revised to explain it all. - Zoe via Bookmarklet

***PROBABLY A SPOILER*** BSG Ending Not What You Expect, Claims Star
September 17 at 1:06 pm - via Bookmarklet - Link
From io9: "Ron Moore did such an incredible thing with this series. The way he ends it – it's brilliant. He got the job done and then some. There is a conclusion to a lot of the storylines we all need closure on. Those of us that are true Battlestar fans and have ridden the rollercoaster through thick and thin... we have been accused many times of being really dark, but listen man, you are going to watch this and be happy... We had the opportunity to go in one direction [with Helo's fate] which I thought was the obvious direction and I fought against it. I talked with a few powers that be and said, "Let's not do that." Everyone agreed and it was great, so I had a little bit of influence on that. I’m happy with the end of my storyline, and it will surprise people." - Mark Trapp via Bookmarklet

BSG's Coolest Set... Gone Forever?
September 8 at 1:15 pm - via Bookmarklet - Link
From io9: "Vancouver's Battlestar Galactica fan club, the 13th Colony, is reporting that the CIC, the set where so many anxious battle moments have taken place, has just been dismantled forever. Does that mean we won't be seeing it again, say in the TV movie that starts filming today? Not necessarily. Back in July, Sci Fi Channel exec Mark Stern said all the sets were being photographed in "digital 3-D" and put into a computer so the crew could "revisit BSG with live actors and virtual locations."" - Mark Trapp via Bookmarklet

"First of all, Sci Fi batted down a rumor that emerged from a “Battlestar” panel at a convention over the weekend. The rumor was that the show’s last batch of episodes might not arrive until April 2009. Not so. The target date for Season 4.5 is still January, the network told Sci Fi Wire. Pretty please -- let that date be set in stone. I am not sure I could wait four more months for the final batch of “Battlestar” goodness. It already feels as though January is an eternity away." - Robert Seidman via Bookmarklet

Battlestar Rumors Debunked
September 3 at 5:11 pm - via Bookmarklet - Link
From SciFi Wire: "SCI FI Channel is calling "inaccurate" rumors that the second half of Battlestar Galactica's fourth and final season will be delayed and confirmed again that the original series will return with new episodes in January 2009. Several Web sites, including io9 and Galactica Sitrep, have posted the rumors, reportedly based on comments made by Battlestar cast member Aaron Douglas at Dragon*Con. The reports are erroneous, the channel confirmed to SCI FI Wire. "It is still slated to return January 2009," a spokesman for the channel said. " - Mark Trapp via Bookmarklet

****SPOILER OH EM GEE**** 3 BSG Characters Have A Dark Secret In Their Past
August 27 at 5:51 pm - via Bookmarklet - Link
From io9: "The more we hear about the new Battlestar Galactica TV movie, the more it sounds as though it'll have to reinvent the show's history a tad in order to make sense. But that could be a good thing, as writer Jane Espenson refashions some old continuity to tell a story about some Cylons on a journey of self-discovery. Star Aaron Douglas (Chief Tyrol) was just at a Fan Expo, and he confirmed which characters will star in the movie, and when it's set. Including spoilers, of course." - Mark Trapp via Bookmarklet

I think the first comment is safe to read -- it only says about the subjects mentioned with no actual details, and a very minor (and frankly pretty obvious) spoiler regarding the tone of the final part of the series. - Timothy Griffin
Yeah, I made sure to sanitize the post to make sure things were removed that might even be considered a spoiler. - Mark Trapp
bastage. If it turns out to be The Admirial himself (olmos was in Blade Runner) I'll be waaaaaaaay impressed. - Jason Kaneshiro
That would be some awesome cross-mythos karma - Michael W. May
I really hope it doesn't turn out that way. I got the ultimate Bladerunner boxset (complete with Unicorn sculpture and many, many discs) last Christmas. I don't want Ridley thinking he needs to go back and re-imagine the ending (again). WIth more voiceovers. And Unicorns. And a Base ship. - WorldofHiglet
