that is very cool - anna awesomesauce
@Karthick no, it is a kind of inbox account on friendfeed: "Their Name <friendfeed@theirname.otherinbox.com>" - anna awesomesauce
Has anyone checked their subscription notice emails to see if this is a new feature or not? I'm wondering.... - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
I've not noticed this. If I reply to someone that way, where does the message go? To their email inbox? And what does it show for my sending address? - Rochelle
It shows your name At Friendfeed, and goes to the email account that you registered with - wrote a post on it with examples at http://www.banane.com/workblog - anna awesomesauce

“If I add Imaginary Friends on FF, and then let my friends know that I have done that, they should be able to sign up and claim that imaginary feed. Is this a good idea? They could be shown multiple imaginary feeds with their names and allowed to choose which one they want to make their own.”

or you should be notified when the real McCoy signs up. I prefer that and I think my friends would prefer that too. - Vincent van Wylick
like vincent's way - which has been a fff request for some time so assume it hasn't been done due to lack of notification robustness in ff - mike "glemak" dunn

“Fix the Twitter noise! Here is how: allow us to choose to separate our 'favourites' from regular Twitter chatter. For example because I chat on twitter it creates loads of noise and so obviously people will hide it, however when I make a conversation starting statement I could favourite it and.....”
yesterday at 12:46 pm - Link
therefore your system would treat it differently allowing people to see it as distinct and not hidden. This would allow people who like to generate conversation but that are not hugely popular like Robert Scoble to generate those conversations from Twitter and spread them to FF as he does. - Roger Kondrat

“When I move from screen to screen in FF I get the following pop up: A username and password are being requested by http://friendfeed.com. The site says: "FriendFeed API". I have entered appropriate data but it keeps on popping up. Using FF, Vista. Doesn't happen on my Ubuntu box with FF. IDEAS?”
6 hours ago - Link
What URL are you attempting to visit that is asking you for that? Authenticated FriendFeed API methods use HTTP Basic Authentication (http://friendfeed.com/api/feed..., for example), which would result in that behavior. Those URLs are intended to be accessed by computer programs, though, not from a browser. - Bret Taylor
If I click on any room link, or Rooms or any list link, I get the same request - Dave Ploch
Something in FF. Chrome doesn't do it. - Dave Ploch
Do you have a Greasemonkey script or plugin installed? It seems likely some plugin in Firefox is attempting to pull data using the FriendFeed API. - Bret Taylor
Yes though not sure what would be doing this. I don't have any FFD specific plugins. I had forgotten about a couple scripts I had installed months ago in GM. Once I turned them off, everything was ducky. Thanks for the help - Dave Ploch
Try disabling your plugins and restarting - does the problem go away? - Bret Taylor
Dave, is it to do with Twitter? It's probably asking for your Twitter username and password so you can reply to Twitter posts on FF. I had the same thing. - Kol Tregaskes

“I've tried to create an imaginary friend from two different computers. Both attempts allow me to type in the name for my imaginary friend, but nothing happens when I hit the create button.”
yesterday at 10:39 am - Link
Jason: sorry for the trouble. If the name you typed in is fewer than 3 characters, it should display an error message and ask you to reenter. There may be an issue with the error message in this case. What name did you attempt to use? - Bret Taylor
The name I used was Michele and IE claimed there was an "Error on Page" - Jason Grant
Is javascript enabled? - AJ Batac ♘
Is it possible you got the error because a 'real' FFer has that same name? - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
Jason, that happens to me on my work computer. I can't find a fix. What Jason means by "Error on Page" is a yellow exclamation mark and that text on the browser status bar. There's no popup error message or anything. Just literally nothing happens when you click the "create" button. - Rochelle
What version of IE are you all using? - Bret Taylor
v7 on one computer, patches up to date & 6 on the other, also patched - Jason Grant

20 hours ago - Link
Um, do you mean is the ability to say "hey, this looks like that other thing" patented? I don't think so... - xero
Yeah, you know how friendfeed smartly says eg "1 more related items" etc, I'd like to do something similar. If someone reads an article, they can see an 'also read' type link, based on relevance more than friends' behavior. Like finding another tweet that really interests you, that you'd never have seen otherwise. Thanks again. I appreciate the community! :) - Ed Shaz/NextInstinct

FriendFeed supports Media RSS. If the feed has the appropriate data it will show images and even audio along with the entry: http://blog.friendfeed.com/200... - Benjamin Golub
Hmm... I see. Thanks Benjamin. So, another question comes : ) How can i make(convert) my Wordpress feeds to "Media RSS" - Selim Yoruk
http://search.yahoo.com/mrss has all the information you should need assuming you are comfortable doing it yourself. If not then you might want to search for a plugin. - Benjamin Golub
I think i found an answer : ) http://wordpress.org/extend/pl... - Selim Yoruk
It doesn't grab the first picture of the post in my blogger blog. What am I doing wrong or are you doing different? - Vincent van Wylick
Vincent, if it's your foodandretail blog you haven't put Media RSS in yet. Look at your feed in Firefox and you should see blue boxes that say "Media files" like here: http://ourdoings.com/brlewis/m... - Bruce Lewis via fftogo
The other consideration is that you need HEIGHT and WIDTH attributes for your thumbnails, and they can't be too large. - Bruce Lewis via fftogo
I often submit my blog posts manually on FF so I can add images and this sounded great. I installed the plugin just prior to my latest blog post but it didn't appear to work. I don't know much about media RSS so If anyone is so inclined to take a quick peek my feed is at http://lifestreamblog.com/feed (feedburner redirect) to tell me something obvious, it's much appreciated. - Mark Krynsky
Mark, your media:content elements don't enclose any media:thumbnail elements. Is that something you can fix, or is feedburner doing it? - Bruce Lewis
I can't help but mention, if you have a pile of JPEGs and want to instantly turn them into a blog with a Media RSS feed, register at http://ourdoings.com/ -- that's what it's there for. - Bruce Lewis
So, I've done three blogs now in the last three days, and I found that only the pictures that I ALIGNED LEFT showed up as thumbnails w/ FF, the other one that was ALIGNED RIGHT did not. - Pete Delucchi

“Bug?: A good portion of the time I browse FF in Firefox3, I can't click any links that use AJAX (like the links to post items, or comment, or show hidden comments in a long thread). Other links work. Reloading the tab and restarting Firefox doesn't work. All works fine in Chrome. What's wrong?”
Wednesday at 10:25 pm - Link
One of your firefox exentions interfering, perhaps? Something to do with your Java settings? Using Firefox3 here and all the AJAX is working fine. - Slippy Lane
I had that problem too in FF2 (stuck on 2 with older Mac OS at home) and had to uninstall the extension I was using for PDFs. - Laura Norvig
Laura: what extension was that? I would like to include that info in our FAQs. - Bret Taylor
I just restarted my computer (for unrelated reasons) and now everything works again in Firefox3 - didn't change any extensions. When it doesn't work, what happens is I click, say, a comment link and instead of opening the comment box, it pops to the top of the page and adds an "#" sign to the URL, so it says http://friendfeed.com/#. in the address bar (just noticed that's what the link shows if you hover over it - so it's like it just doesn't render the ajax and just tries to open that link). - Jandy Stone
Never had this problem. - xero

“Is it normal, if I post on my StumbleUpon, ahem, blog, that it shows up here as having Stumbled it? I don't loving this too muchly. ;)”
Tuesday at 5:01 pm - Link
Yes, that is normal. You added StumbleUpon to your feed. You can remove it by going to the "Me" page and clicking "add/edit", then click stumbleupon and then "remove account" - Laura Norvig
Removing the SU account from FriendFeed is not the answer. His issue is that different activities on SU are being conflated by FF. SU does use separate feeds for different activities, so this should be fixed by FF. - Tanath
Ah, I get it Tanath. I didn't realize Stumble had more than just, well, stumbling. Now I get what Ed meant. - Laura Norvig

Maryam, going by the pages at the bottom of this Room, it looks fixed? - Kol Tregaskes
thank you for your reply Kol! This room does have the option to access the older posts, yes - but in the rooms that I set up, the older posts are just gone now...and there are no numbered pages or "older" option at the bottom...Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted to allow for all the posts to show in the rooms? Example = http://friendfeed.com/rooms/cr... - Maryam

Another example of why I dislike this 'related entry' thing
September 21 at 4:03 am - Link
The entry that is visually interesting is hidden for a blunt text-only entry - Peter
I'd like the option to do without this feature. - Peter
...or get the way the feature works improved. - Rodrigo
it shows most recently commented or liked entry first - Michael J. Cohen (mjc)
I hate this. I wish the pic was on top. How about a setting to turn off related filtering? I'd rather wade through "duplicate" entries than expand them one by one! - Oliver Ortega Chua
It's also annoying having to pick through sometimes multiple related items if it is a Google Reader share or a Digg for example to look at the comments. Would make sense for related items for FriendFeed to roll all the related comments in together - although I'm thinking that would be *way* more complicated to implement than the URL matching they appear to be doing at the moment. - Richard Peat
I would suggest to have the entry with the most data (comments + likes + images) as the main topic and put all others under related. - Andreas Gohr
I'd suggest it should prioritise FriendFeed shares? - Kol Tregaskes
@Kol... I think that's the best solution. Someone who takes the time to post here, with pics, Likes, conversations, whatever, is much more important than a bunch of people jumping on the bandwagon with Digg, Google Reader, StumbleUpon, etc. - £ogical €xtremes
