sooo.. for non-Googlers.. my take is that you'd use this to build indexes on multiple dimensions external to databases. So you could use something like this to speed up queries on a something like the normalized version of the social network data schema in Dare's post: http://www.25hoursaday.com/web... (or am I way off track here) - Nick Lothian
It also appears to be somewhat analogous to geohashing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G...) - in that you can do "like" and "between" queries on the generated value, and close generated values shows a closer relationship between the source data - Nick Lothian
