instead of offering an HTML view, gmail offers "View" and "Download." I just wish the viewer also let you save to your google docs. - Baratunde Thurston
this change hasn't been pushed to my gmail yet :( - Peter Theill

"On the Google Desktop gadgets team, we've seen countless requests for a Gmail gadget over the years. That gadget is finally here, so if you've got Google Desktop for Windows, give it a try." - LouCypher

I made the switch to always use https on gmail, you should too. - Bjorn Stromberg
I don't see any connection between using HTTPS Gmail and the phishing emails, so this is not a solution. If you use the HTTPS Gmail, you'll still receive some phishing emails. - Ionut
To improve navigation from one wiki page to another, Google Code added side navigation across wiki pages (e.g doctype docs). You can add a 'Wiki sidebar' by specifying the wiki file that describes your side navigation in the Administration tab under Wiki settings. - LouCypher
""Is it possible for someone to create a malicious filter without having access to your Gmail username and password? No, however, they can force you to create the filter without your knowledge. The blogosphere is buzzing about a Gmail Security Flaw that has caused some people to lose their domain names registered through GoDaddy."" - Ray Metzen
That flaw could open up the back door to any site that lets you reset/retrieve your credentials via email, not just GoDaddy. - Lindsay Donaghe
It's probably even worse. Looks like any email can be compromised as long as the attacker knows enough about it -- sender address, unique parts of the subject or message bode, etc -- to filter it reliably. So any kind of confidential email is at risk, not just login credentials. That's really scary, I hope they plug that hole as soon as possible. - Ray Metzen
things like this make me want to drop google from my life altogether but when i try i realize it aint gonna happen - Jay Martinez
The solution for Google is so rudimentary it concerns me why this is even an issue. Sessions should never be sent in the clear and should always be one-time use. HTTP headers are not a means for hiding information. Their purpose is essentially unbookmarkable URL parameters. If you wouldn't put it on a URL for security reasons, don't put it in the headers either. - ·[▪_▪]·
"Google today is contemplating building a data center in Kronstorf, Austria, where it has purchased 185 acres of farmland for the project. The project has been in the works since May, when news of Google’s site location scouting trips in Austria was published on Twitter by Kronstorf residents." - imabonehead

canned responses would be an awesome feature if it wouldn't delete the entire message you are applying it to! I can't believe that hasn't been modified yet.. - Kelly Johns
+1 Kelly, that would make canned responses even more useful. - Ray Metzen
Yeah Ray, most of the time I would used a canned response to respond to someone, but if it clears out their original email it is not really useful. I wouldn't think it would be hard to make it so it just inserts the text wherever you want it. - Kelly Johns
I agree, that was kind of a strange design decision. What I do sometimes to get around it is copy the content of the entire textarea to the clipboard before I select a canned response, then paste the original content back in at the bottom. Ugly but workable... - Ray Metzen
