“Hi folks! N3VZL here in FN20nf. Just found the room through Ben's profile. I spent about a dozen years as a no-code tech before becoming a no code general last november :) Bought an FT-857D not too long ago, but I'm a condo dweller, so I have to get fancy if I want to get a signal out :)”

I've been SWLing PSK31 and SSTV for years, and I have a strong interest in HF digital voice, D-Star, and EmComm. I desperately need to build the nu3e attic coax trap dipole to get out on HF. Maybe a good winter project. - Steve J
Welcome Steve! You can start with a random wire and a radial cut 5% longer than your random wire. If you have an antenna tuner. If not, cut yourself a 1/2 wave dipole, say for 20 Meters and just operate. I also live in a condo and run 50-watts into a doublet. - ka3drr

I'm sorry... I just can't stand scoble.... - Ben Jackson
No problem Ben but his post was interesting indeed. - ka3drr
It was a good post...and true. The more you participate, the more you get. Just like radio, frankly. 73 de ke2vn. - BISQ
Nice supportive comment. I'm implementing the Scoble model that is, quality over quantity, smarts over noise, and engaging conversation. I was loud on Twitter but did my conversation carry meaningfulness? I'm hanging with FriendFeed and I noted my really simple syndication (RSS) reached five subscribers just today. Five interactions and that is productive feedback. - ka3drr
