I think this is the best explanation that I've heard for the problems that I seem to be having. I just tried to update an app this morning and went into the "endless reboot loop". This has been happening more frequently as my installed app count grows. - James via Bookmarklet
I don't get reboots but I've yet to do a batch of app upgrades that works the first time. I get stuck in a loop where I can't update apps and or can't copy them to my phone. So annoying. - Jon West

wake me up when it doesn't require a jailbroken phone.... - sean808080
@sean808070 you mean wake you up when Apple wakes up and lets the iPhone fulfill it's potential. I'm bummed it doesn't work out if the box, but not enough enough of a purist to shun jailbreaking. - Jon West
@sean808080 I agree it would be much better if it was "official" but jailbreaking is SO simple its really not much of a downside. - Kevin Doyle
Why is Apple not turning on video? Like what good reason could they have for not allowing it? - Ryan
@Ryan I'm guessing it has more to do with AT&T not being able to handle all the bandwidth. Just a guess; hope they figure all this stuff out. - Jon West

I think it's a bit of a push to call your howling 'singing' :-p - Jonathon
I don't really consider my tastes obscure, but Shazam is successful at finding all but the most local and independant of artists. Midomi never worked for any of the music I tested it on. And I'm not really sure how to hum genres like martial industrial, ambient or EBM anyway. - Robert Haas
I think that's backwards. Midomi out, shazam in. Midomi can't recognize songs when they're played clearly let alone getting it right based on humming or me singing. Shazam is simple and has worked every time. - Jon West
Back to back Shazam just has better recognition. Plus on the upside if I ever do feel the need to just hum a song, its a free app so I can just use Midomi then. - Kevin Doyle
Well I'm gonna keep using midomi 'til it fails me. - Fox Tucker
Count me as one who prefers Shazam to Midomi. Shazam is much better at recognizing the music that I throw at it. - James
i love shazam and it amazes everyone i show it to. - sean808080
midomi sucks compared to shazam. 0/5 with midomi and 4/5 for shazam for grabbing stuff playing on the radio - Ryan

The BlackBerry Bold browser vs iPhone Safari

Even if the Bold was faster, id still choose the iPhone over it because it displays more of the page, and just looks nicer. - Simon Wicks

"A few months back, the iPhone overtook the 5 megapixel Nokia N95 as the most popular cameraphone on Flickr. Even though it looks like there was a slight hiccup since then, *gasp*, the iPhone appears to be widening the lead." - Jonathon via Bookmarklet
I guess the explanation for the hiccup is that this is the period when everybody was waiting around for the 3G version to come along? - Richard Peat
... and the quality of photos on Flickr plummets. - Jon Price
I've actually been pretty surprised by the pictures my iPhone has produced - certainly exceeds what a comparison of the technical specs suggest that it should produce. - Richard Peat

Has anyone else heard of the 3G having a substantially faster processor. Rated at 835 mHz for the 3G vs 620 mHz for the first gen iPhone. I realize that the ARM processor in the first gen was downclocked to 412 mHz, but this is a noteworthy difference if true. - James via Bookmarklet

The word nano implies a smaller form factor, I just don't see that happening. Maybe a lower priced version, that I could see. - Kevin Doyle
A smaller form factor iPhone will eventually ship; seems a little doubtful it'll happen this year. But with Apple, you never know. - Albert Willis
Seems like a smaller iPhone would be awkward to use. What would be the benefits other than being small? - Jon West
I am not sure I want anything smaller. At least not like the mockups that are floating around. Maybe only as small as the current screen would be nice. A cheaper model yes but smaller form factor I don't see anytime soon. - Kevin Doyle

I just sold my 16GB 1st gen for $500 very easily locally on craigslist. - Kevin Doyle
Kevin, the prices I have in the graph are in EUR. I would take a 16 GB 1st gen for 500 USD, easily, too. (~300 EUR). - dekay
Some people are selling them for as low as $200-$300 here locally. - Kevin Doyle
