Comparing the Uni and Touch Pro with the the Omnia is like comparing apples and pears: VGA vs. WQVGA (240 x 400)... seems like one hell of an objective test to me :P - Michael Leuker

Yeah, like "Really?!? Get the f'out!!" LOL, like it never occurred to BGR in the 4 years that Nokia has been making Maemo devices. - Dread Pirate PJ

yeah, that was me feeling - last 4 years I had been doing what? lmao - silpol
Not going to happen. You do know they just finalized the purchase of symbian right? Maemo is where it belongs on tablets. - Sloan Bowman
"In this part of the the Windows Mobile Guide, I will focus on what are the must have software apps I recommend everyone should have, software apps I would suggest getting, and where to get them all. I will even show you where to get tons of software for free...legally!" - David Cook

If Clearwire sacks WiMAX at some point it will be the fatal blow to the technology. Would be a pity as an alternative that doesn't need a SIM card is always welcome! - Michael Leuker

Is this the same company that has a chip for mobiles that will do HiDef at 60fps, and 5MP video at 15 fps? - Michael Fidler
I have no idea, but if they do I hope they really make it to market with all of that! Not that the competition in the mobile platform sector won't be fierce... - Michael Leuker
Apparently, it's another company. They have some competition which is a good thing. I wish I could find the article. This other company plans on shipping in the first quarter. Between WiMax/LTE and HiDef video, cell phones next Christmas are going to be insane! - Michael Fidler
You say it! Although I wouldn't bet on LTE in 2009 too much... the current recession might delay the new networks by a couple of years. On the other hand not upgrading soon could bring down many mobile networks as even HSPA+ won't be able to provide enough bandwidth for future usage scenarios. - Michael Leuker
Whether it's magic or not: Internet Sharing sure is nice to have and I made it my exclusive means to connect to the net at home in Japan. 2,2mbps downstream is everything I need and once they throw in some HSUPA goodness there's not much more more I could ask for. - Michael Leuker

"If you're like us, you haven't seen nearly enough of the N97 yet... right? Well fear not, faithful reader, as our intrepid comrade from Engadget Spanish, Drita, has nabbed a tasty hands-on with the phone in question." - Kevin Cearns

The chosen title is a bit dramatic, but the cause certainly is good: GPS should and must not be locked down for exclusivity purposes and the more people who are at least aware of this the harder it gets for providers to pull these things on THEIR CUSTOMERS. - Michael Leuker

Alright, this explains one "how", but there is another: How many of you actually use Exchange? For me it was nice while it lasted, but nowadays I rely heavily on Google products. Even though syncing the calendar and contacts still isn't working 100% for non-Android devices we are getting there. What advantages does Exchange offer for an individual user? - Michael Leuker

I like that Jobsish attitude: No matter what anyone working for you does, tell them it's not good enough. Tell them it's shit. Tell them they're shit. Threaten to fire them. Annoy your superiors. Irritate your colleagues. Insist on perfection, and then, when you get it, insist on making it more perfect. Got it? Good. Start today. - Michael Leuker

""That was fast. It's barely Nov. 21 and the iPhone 2.2 update is here, all 246MB of it, as promised. Included in the update, according to the release notes and as we'd heard, are all the new Google Maps features we've been waiting for like Street View (which is so far butter smooth and delicious over Wi-Fi, slightly less magical over 3G), public transit and walking directions, as well as over-the-air podcast downloads, mail enhancements, Safari tweaks, improved sound quality for visual voicemail, fewer dropped calls (again), and more. But you know, not MMS or copy and paste. Grab it now."" - Susan Beebe (Santa Claus)
Allows users to easily get various Widgets on their phone and manage them with a user friendly interface from the desktop website. It gives access to a lot of Internet content without having to struggle (for the majority who do not own an iPhone) with the mobile browser... - embee

"While the arrival of Windows Mobile 6.5 for the year 2009 was announced here and there, then confirmed by Steve Balmer himself at the PDC 2008, Smartphone France is very pleased to present exclusive World 2 first screenshots of what should be Windows Mobile 6.5. If for the moment there is no real information on the new version of Windows Mobile, what is happening is that Microsoft has finally decided to redesign the interface of the aging systems to try to catch up with his lags behind its competitors." - Michael Fidler

Currently upgrade page is down but don’t worry white G1 is coming soon .The only thing I am afraid of is the color, I heard that some G1’s had problems with color chipping off and also after few months of use, do you think white g1 is going to be still white or yellowish?" - Michael Fidler
