I just found twing.com for forums; and I had found a Yahoo pipes that someone had made & put it into Netvibes that brought in diff results that G. Alerts (I should blog about them) - Connie Bensen
that depends if you want to use services you pay for. I'd suggest looking at Radian6 - Robin Seidner
TruCast is a good pay tool that actually analyzes text and quantifies opinion as positive or negative (a little buggy but still pretty solid) and Social Media Firehose (built on Yahoo Pipes) is also interesting. - Devlin Dunsmore via twhirl
https://www.filtrbox.com/ is definitely worth checking out...we use it in combination with Summize & Alerts. Delicious tags are also worth following for the brands vertical whatever it may be... - Sean McColgan
Thanks all. Great suggestions... - Alan Edgett

My take on 'User Needs' a mobile social network can satisfy. Would love to get your feedback on how on/off-track I am and things that I might have missed or overlooked - Sachendra

Great little list. We're all struggling to make sense of the best use of these tools. Our clients want to swim in these new waters. They just don't want to drown. - Kawika Holbrook
Kodak is missing from this list. They are doing some nice things that is worth checking out. - kamla bhatt

Interesting, now we'll see if Google takes this further or fumbles it like they did Orkut. - Justin Gibbs via Bookmarklet

My favorite quote: "If you're going to be effective, you have to speak with a voice of authority and trust," Duffy said. "That doesn't come from marketing; it comes from subject-matter experts." - dennis d. mcdonald
It's just a different form ofpoured into social marketing initiatives can't make customers communication than what brands are used to. They are so used to just shouting at the customer and assuming they are buying it but when it comes to social marketing/media it has to be on a level that makes the customer actually want to engage. All the money in the world won't make people engage a brand in the social space, authenticity just can't be faked or bought you actually have to work at it. - Devlin Dunsmore via twhirl

I think they were legitimate before, just rarely used. It certainly has the potential to bring them mainstream and easily integrate with popular tools, such as YouTube. - David Sim
I'm not using Lively since, when I looked, there was no Apple client. I use Windows primarily but many of my colleagues use Macs. - dennis d. mcdonald
The main difference with Lively is that it is browser based (not quite web standards but closer) and given Google's large user base and account integration it looks like this effort could be the mainstream push that virtual worlds need. I think it is a big step forward for social media...it has always been my opinion that virtual worlds would be the next generation of social networking it was just finding a way to have it as accessible as a standard website like Facebook. I think Lively is Google's play to grab a leading role in the next generation of social networking since Orkut didn't quite get them there. - Devlin Dunsmore via twhirl
