"My kids are aware of Santa, but we don't hype him up or do the whole thing were we work really hard to convince them that he exists to get them excited, etc. Personally, and I know this will ruffle, I don't like lying so consistently to my kids about something that doesn't matter. *places on flame retardant suite*" - Tony
When me and Savanah last had this conversation, I think we landed on basically the same premise of your argument for not doing the Santa thing in that if you consistently lie to them and then they find out he's not real, what kind of message does that send to your kids? - Josh Turmel

"Hey Dan! As far as the sacraments, communion isn't a problem. We have lead through that through Live Video several times. Once we even had someone in Oklahoma lead through the body and someone in Atlanta lead through the Blood. Baptism is obviously harder if we are trying to be a self contained and disconnected part of the Church. Fortunately we aren't, the kingdom vision here is one that isn't in competition with any other local church. So, as people have wanted to be baptized we connect them with a local church, pastor or LifeGroup leader to help. That is how the Church is supposed to work right? :)" - Tony

“Dear client, every time you call me from a blocked number, the chance of me picking up the phone decreases. Go ahead and keep calling every 30 seconds. I'm still not going to answer. Maybe one day you'll leave a voicemail. Love, Rochelle.”

I don't know anybody named "Unknown" or "Out of Area". Nor do I have any friends or relatives with toll-free numbers. I usually don't answer any of those. - ♫ Rahsheen ™ ★
but I just want to hear your voice one more time - RAPatton
Amen! If your number is 'unavailable', then so am I - Morgan Haley
+1 Morgan - Shey
what's funny are the messages that are left on my voice mail....'beep. please continue to hold....' yeah, ok. i'll hold...the 'end' button on my phone you non-sneaky weasels!!! - Morgan Haley
Yeah - I never answer the phone unless I know who's calling AND I want to talk with them right then and there. - Tad, TV's Patrick Duffy
bottom line: if you want to contact me, do it via the mail or unblock your phone number. if i don't answer, leave a message. if i don't call you back, there's probably a reason. if i owe you money, well, use the us postal service to let me know. - Morgan Haley
I should be keeping a count of how many calls I'm getting. It's ringing again right now! HAH. And then it stopped and now it's ringing again. Barely 5 seconds between calls that time. This is comedy. - Rochelle
Rochelle: sounds like you have it worse than I do! I get at least 20 calls a day, between 730am and 830pm, but nothing more than that. Mostly. - Morgan Haley
Morgan, I get about 10-20 normal calls per day. Today is just special, though. I'm probably at about 30 so far today and I've been here for 3 hours. Two regular calls and the rest are the non-stop blocked calls. - Rochelle
It really sucks selling my condo - normally I won't answer any number not in my phone book. Now that I need to field calls from Relators I'm finding myself having to answer every single agonizing call. - Sparky
@sparky why you didn't order temporary call forwarding number, so all condo sales would go on that number and you will see it had been forwarded, huh? - silpol
silpol - how could you identify forwarded calls? Does the iPhone support this? - Sparky

"Something that Brandon consistently is saying is that "People are worth the risk of our pursuit to do Church online." That comes from what I love about working here at LifeChurch.tv, is that we don't need to have it all figured out, but we do need to reach people any way possible. One of our consistent sayings is "We will do anything short of sin to reach people with the Gospel." We do believe that online church is "real church" but like how James put it, it is very different and has a different community life to it." - Tony

But will it counter the iPhone or the G1 in terms of an open platform? - Peter Kelley
It's amazing how Nokia has managed to keep the lid on this! I doubt it's the communicator they're launching. Has to be a more consumer-centric phone. - Bhavishya Kanjhan
Peter: I don't say "wow" lightly, but I can't say more. They did something Apple never does: trusted us with an early view of their devices the night before their big coming out party. - Robert Scoble
Robert, you're such a Tease! That's great to hear, because I just purchased a G1! :D - Daynah
9 hours Robert? I'll set my alarm ;) - Michael Forian
Give us a hint please ;-) - Simon
Although I haven't owned a Nokia in years and love my iPhone, I really hope this is going to be the N-Series touchscreen phone. - Ben Kessler
It doesn't surprise me. Nokia has been the leader in mobile innovation for ever. They've trumped Motorola, Sony Ericsson, LG, Samsung, all with ease... Whatever tricks they're pulling out will no doubt make you froth at the mouth. Just sayin... - Enrique Gutierrez
Oh crap I've also got a friend in the US to get me the G1, I better hold that purchase till Wednesday then! - Bhavishya Kanjhan
Simon: I've already hinted way too much. I don't want to get the blogger relations team fired. It's VERY COOL that they are treating us so well and giving us such great access to their team. - Robert Scoble
Looking forward to tomorrow's announcement... Nokia is an interesting company. - karen2
Only Scoble can get you excited about something you don't want or need (iPhone user here) - James Hull
James: I took a picture of the new thing from Nokia next to an iPhone. Believe me, I'm a MAJOR iPhone fan. More later today. FriendFeed'ers will get first look at the videos and pictures I shot tonight. - Robert Scoble
until Nokia does something about the god awful user interface that is the current Symbian - the hardware is not going to make a lick of difference - ben rogers
Good. I have my fingers crossed. So long as the alarm clock still works when the phone is turned off (the single greatest feature of every Nokia :-)) I'll be a happy chap. - mattpovey
Ben: you'll want to see what they are doing there. Let's just say this isn't the same old N95 interface. - Robert Scoble
Well now I am interested, a new UI, that will be something to talk about - Brendon Wadey
For years, the American cell industry was laughed at as being so far behind the rest of the world. Then comes the iPhone, and guess who laughed, while the Nokias of the world realized how small their advantage had been, and how incremental their products truly were. Nokia is no Apple, they never have been, they don't have the chops to revolutionize. Maybe they'll impress along the lines of an XPERIA. But I don't buy hype when it comes to Nokia. - Christopher Galtenberg
UI will be Maemo or S60 Touch, or maybe.... Android? - Simon
They have alot of work to do to catch up to the iPhone and G1. Nokia has been far down my list of 'must have' phones for a while - Alistair via twhirl
Robert - if its truly different then it will be interesting to see :) - ben rogers
I'm a big Nokia fan, so I'm looking forward to whatever they have to offer. I've decided the iPhone just isn't for me (although it's dead sexy) and the T-Mobile G1 is an obvious Gen1 device. - Jason Huebel
You guys should check out the HTC phones, as in the Touch Diamond, very nice interface and phone. - Brendon Wadey
Might be a new internet tablet running on Linux... - yannick
@Christopher Galtenberg I guess that Nokia sell every day the same amount of phones that Apple sells in a year. Not to mention that modern Nokia's have better cameras, uncrippled bluetooths, better HSDPA, OLED screens (in N85)..... and FM radio! :-) - Ricardo Galli
I wonder if it is a new edition of the N95? My company markets them exclusively here in the states. We are rolling out video to video cell phone software 2Q 2009! It's a sick MMD. (Multi Media Device) - Brandi
eight hours from now, i can wait to buy my iphone. i have almost went to buy my white earpods following lisa simpson - hector juarez
I was told they crash like it's 1999 (and you're running windows 98, remember that). - Ian May
@Ricardo, you can have that argument, it wasn't mine. - Christopher Galtenberg
Just a clue (I don't know what it is), their guy in charge of Social strategy (yes, Nokia has one of those - a clue in and of itself) was at the Palo Alto Facebook Developers Garage a couple months ago. - Jesse Stay
Did they put the folding screen idea to use? - James
Now I'm getting interested. Unforunately there is always a lag before we get new mobile tech out here in NZ anyway (very frustrating) - Alistair via twhirl
I'll only take it seriously if they do NOT use the term 'iPhone killer'. - Andrew Leyden
I'm guessing Flash with a good data environment. - Floyd Davenport

It's Leopard only. Verdict = don't bother. - Mona N.
Installed and love it. Very fast. No bookmarks is a bummer, but having each window/tab processor independent is a nice win. I am trying as default for now. - Tony
Tony - do you have Webkit's nightly build installed? - Mona N.
No. I don't even know if I have webkit installed on this computer yet. - Tony
Did you uninstall Safari? - Mona N.
No I haven't, feel like a noob here, Is webkit the new deal and I've missed it? Jeesh. So, I shouwl unistall safari? I installed the new webkit. B - Tony
Oh! Leave Safari and install the nightly build. It's an Open Source project that runs off Safari and the icon is a gold compass unlike the default Safari's silver? Platinum? One - and don't worry, I just recently discovered it too. It'll change your life! :) - Mona N.
I'll have to try it when I get my Macbook Pro. - Mathew Ballard

So what's so great about Webkit? It seems to look and behave exactly like Safari. - Akiva Moskovitz
The nightly builds renders a lot of sites I use faster. - Mona N. via IM
Can you really tell the difference in rendering speed? Perhaps it has a better cache? - torque
Better cache is with Firefox vs Safari / Nightly build - since Webkit doesn't auto refresh Ajax heavy sites. - Mona N. via IM
Seems decent enough. And I suppose if a particular nightly of Webkit breaks, you can always go back to Safari until the next nightly comes out. - Akiva Moskovitz
That's right, Akiva, you can! - Glen Campbell
But it's more like Webkit monthly build, since they don't release every night haha - Mona N.
Yes, we can! - Akiva Moskovitz
I will always do exactly as you request, Mona. - Louis Gray
