“Dear Netflix: I'm not going to play this game of trying to watch-instantly everything you intend to take away from me that you conveniently mark with the big scary letters. If I can watch it instantly, great. If not, I'll wait for the DVD.”

I don't appreciate your trying to add stress to my life with the scary red letters. Fortunately, I have my own big letters. You know what they say? "Don't Panic". There's a lesson here for you. - James Williams (willia4)

Interesting. Though a "full bookmark" is pretty lightweight all things considered. - James Williams (willia4)
True, but even with tagging I found my read it later tagged bookmarks to clutter things. - Matthew

“The MacBook Pro is scalding hot for some reason, so I had to turn the ceiling fan on even though I'm freezing. This had a dramatic effect on the case temperature in just a couple of minutes. Crazy.”

I'm still freezing, though - James Williams (willia4)
Most PC laptop cooling pads don't work with MacBooks because they have fans that blow upward to a flat surface that barely has any clearance with the bottom of the solid flat Mac laptop. This yields nearly zero airflow. You may have to jirry-rig some small blocks for the rear of the laptop to sit on to allow airflow from the bottom center of the unit upward to the back (pseudo convection). - Glenn Batuyong
These things roast. If I'm doing anything CPU intensive, I can't keep my MBP in my lap for very long. When I'm at my desk, I use a BookEndz Dock that has a steel cooling plate. - Paul Reynolds
I'm not doing anything intensive which is why I'm concerned. According to the internal sensors, the CPU is running at 165F, the bottom of the case is at 93F and the wireless module is at 127F. - James Williams (willia4)

file.open("name.xls").Append(file.open("othername.xls")); :D - Tad, TV's Patrick Duffy
Screw ODBC. What you need is to write a script that parses the file's XML into a DOM tree, traverse the tree for the nodes you want and clone them into the new tree. Then just write the file out. Yeah, that's the ticket! - Paul Reynolds

“Does anyone know if it's possible to make Yahoo Pipes output the full RSS feed?”
Wednesday at 12:52 pm - Link
I refuse to use title-only feeds. And since Pipe's RSS output seems to be title only, even though it HAS the full feed available, Pipes is usesless. *sigh* - James Williams (willia4)
Not sure what you are talking about. None of my pipes are title only. I don't even know what that means. - Dave Slusher
My pipes push the full content (or partial if that's all that's available) to the feed. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
I've been trying to pull Stack Overflow feeds into a pipe. But now, I'm starting to think Stack Overflow isn't serving valid atom (Firefox doesn't correctly syntax highlight their source code, whereas it does highlight the code for Dave's Evil Genius Chronicles atom feed.) Which might explain the problem. - James Williams (willia4)
