"The sequel to HP’s Mini-Note 2133 netbook has shown up on the company’s online store. Called the HP Mini 1000, the netbook measures less than 1-inch thick and weighs from 2.25lbs; it also has a new, black casing and appears to be intended as a more entry-level machine than the 2133. It's too bad, I just went to check it out, and just like everything else that's too good to be true, as soon as you start adding on the basic upgrades you are well over 500$ and even higher if you want this thing to work for you. The base model alone is 399$, but that's with only 512MB Memory, 8.9" display, and and 8GB HDD :-( - cmiper

this will work as a blu-ray player, yes, though i'm unsure over the extent of features like scanning, indexing, menu features, etc.. and it is compatible with macs as far as i know. i would imagine programs with blue ray authoring/copying additions such as toast would work well with this. as far as working with apple's dvd player, if you mean copying from one to the other, probably not. - Cee Bee
