@Tudor: No, I'm done with WoW forever. Have you bought it? - Jess Lee
No, Jeanette and I hit 70 about 6 months ago and then promptly stopped playing. I think we're done with WoW (and possibly all MMORPGs) for good. - Tudor Bosman
My hubby and I stopped a while back, but we bought WotLK, and I'm having some fun with it. I like the Death Knights, although, they are almost too easy so far... - Danielle Closs
I still respect McCain. It's too bad he started listening to the same jerks who beat him in 2000. - ha3rvey
Well said, Akiva. I was thinking the same thing. - ♫ Rahsheen ™ ★
OMG, people are screaming "NO" "NO" McCain supporters at that speech are full of shit for screaming and booing. Talk about fucking sore losers. McCain should tell them to shut up. - Molly, the Merry Maker
Some people do not know how to loose gracefully - Ro11z

I've seen the same things during Dem concession speaches. nothing new. there's always sore losers in every bunch. - Jason Shultz

+1. McCain's speech was good, and at least he tried to keep them quiet. - Jordan Hofker
I do feel for them, and I will hold them in the Light (as the Quakers say it) tonight as I pray Compline before I got to sleep. We all need to be held in the Light, and I'll bet that these folks feel pretty much abandoned, alone, and in the dark right now. - Ladybug Heather
Props to McCain. I've always respected him and what he stands for. I even agree with him on several issues. I think his best qualities shined through in that speech. - Daryl aka Lil Trumpet Boy
"Or a customer. Open source gives developers the opportunity to define the mobile experience on the go. Open source enables Google to put out a nice rough draft, but then allow the community to embrace and extend it over time, delivering updates OTA. Google still retains control, but the community retains influence." - Mona N.
I have to agree. That is a key market strength of open source, that it intrinsically engages the users in the creation and ownership of the brand. Very powerful. - Neal "thePuck" Jansons
Exactly. The market is no longer monopolized. IMO, Android is going to catch on a lot quicker than back in the day. It'll be like... IE vs Firefox - accelerated. I can't WAIT. - Mona N.
OTA updates FTW. I can't wait for devs to port Android to existing HTC handsets. (Specifically mine! ;) - Jericho
Android seems really rough right now but very promising. I will definitely consider switching over whenever the next Apple mandated iPhone upgrade arrives. It should be very interesting to see how Apple handles the competition. - Kevin D. White
iPhone will always be more fun and people like fun ... - Gabe Boisvert
Don't know if you've had a chance to play with the G1 Gabe, but if not: I assure you, I'm having a blast with mine. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
I don't see this happening anytime soon. Open Source software is a.k.a "chaos". It's impossible to get everyone to agree on something and the end result is "too much choice". Take a look at Linux; to the average Joe it's still a fricking mess after all these years: too many distros and each with choices on the window managers, whew! IMO iPhone will enjoy mainstream for a long time to come until the day when there are more IT dudes than non-IT dudes. - vijay
My G1 kicks total ass. I have an iPod Touch and I'm only using it for listening to music now. - Tad, TV's Patrick Duffy
What kind of control does Google have at this point? They still control the Android SDK but Android itself has been open sourced and is supposedly being managed by the Open Handset Alliance. As for the advantages to having been open sourced ... there's a lot of awesome unrestricted sample code that can be repurposed in apps with the best changes reinserted into the OS. A stable OTA update system could mean that Android could survive in a perpetual beta. - scott anderson
Actually, there's a fair amount of control. The apps get put through to Google who handles the marketplace, funds are split 70-developer and 30-network. As for updates: I received my first OS update yesterday and it was a seamless experience. - Stupid Blogger (aka Tina)
The marketplace is an application. Is there some restriction preventing other entities from building their own Android app store apps? I spent a summer in a lab at Sprint writing the custom software for their OTA provisioning architecture. When there's only one phone to update I'd expect that the range of issues encountered is somewhat manageable. Hopefully, the firmware and data updates will continue to be seamless as the number of devices that need to be supported expands. - scott anderson
Soylent Broccoli -- it's people! AAAAAAAAAAAAAUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! - Richard Walker
Old ad theory. The idea is that you don't consciously notice the faces, but your mind picks it up, anyway. In this case, the message is "Buy this broccoli and your family will be happy." I can't help but look for images in ice cubes I see in ads. Lots of interesting stuff. Or I need to get out more -- one or the other. - Chris Baskind
I wonder if carving the teeny little faces is outsourced? - JC unwired
Chris, is it really that prevalent? I thought that kind of thinking went out in the 70s. Maybe just an easter egg? Look grandma, I'm on the produce! - Eric @ CS Techcast
Orkut sucks! Spam is out of control on there. Whatever Bristol Karina Ferrari is - leave me ALONE! - vijay
I STILL get friend requests from Orkut LOL! - Mona N.
Agreed Orkut sucks. I keep trying to get my friends to move to facebook but I keep failing. And to think I actually want them on Friendfeed! - Rahul Das
Facebook sucks even more! It's a script overload NIGHTMARE! - Mona N.
Rahul, I have had some success as I'm very persistent. I reply to all orkut scraps in Facebook and force them to check it out inside Fb! Not sure about FF though as most of them haven't gotten their head around twitter even. - vijay
Mona, maybe you are targeted 'cause you are very popular? I have quite a few friends on there along with a ton of my clients but they(and I) love it! FF rules tho. - vijay
lol, the US is the only place on the planet where MySpace is the most popular :-) - Duncan Riley
vijay: Orkut? I haven't logged in since 2004 and I STILL get friend requests LOL As for FB, my biggest gripe is how they keep adding features and overloading the UI with Ajax, hence causing my browsers to crash! @Duncan: At this point, I'm thinking of going BACK to Myspace since it's more customizable than FB! - Mona N.
I was talking about Fb, don't use orkut anymore :} And I switched to Fb initally for the UI! Google Chrome, Win XP, no probs. Anyway my point is that out of the choices for those in India, Fb is the best choice. - vijay
Hehe, Morocco stands for FB, yeah! At least they're using something... for the rest not having data, we got what? Some places in Africa and what's that little spot under Russia? Skyrock in Algeria? Nice graph, thanks for the post there, it's really interesting!. - Zu aka ElijahBailey
Matt: No one answer... lol My messages are overfilling everywhere because I'm horrible at keeping up. :( @Zu -- my pleasure. :) - Mona N.
This definitely shows that social network companies must look at the local culture when entering a region. One type of marketing approach is not going to work everywhere. Yahoo Japan is an excellent example of looking at the local culture. - Parvez Halim
hi-5 and linked-in is what i get pinged for in india - Gregory Lent
Orkut was long ago overrun by the bad-grammar brigade. Indian teens are addicted to it. Facebook is 'new' here. Hi5 and the others are not even on the sub-continental map. - Vijayendra Mohanty
Orkut rocks for me! Thats because almost most of the people I care about are in Orkut. I know that I cannot and will not be able to convince everyone of them to use some other social networking sites like FB, FF or myspace. I sometimes dream of a world, where FB, Orkut, Myspace could work seamlessly with each other sharing contacts and interesting data. - Karthick R
who are these guys inviting me to hi-5 on rediffmail, if no one uses it in india? - Gregory Lent
majority looks like Facebook. however US is MySpace all the way. There are some really weird social networks out there like V Kontakte?! What the...?? - Amir H.
But is this really the geekiest Pi ever? I mean, they didn't even bother to carve in 3.141592653589793238... (that was from memory, there may be an inaccuracy or two). - possible248
heh.possible. they did the best they could I guess around the perimeter.. - embee
I think the geekiest ever would have been Mac OS3.14 (Apple Pi) - April Russo
I have experience with DoctorCreditUSA. They work with you to challenge items appearing on your credit report. If the company that added the item to your credit report cant provide details legitimizing the item, it can legally be removed by the credit bureaus. - Louis Ponder
"A large number of widgets from talented Japanese developers that include original, rarely encountered blog parts to the most recent and popular." - Louis Ponder
I like it for the iCal export option so that I can add it to Google Calender and be reminded when I can expect a new epsiode! - Rahul Das

Have you ever thought about it? I mean, I automatically do a lot of things with my right hand that really I could do with my left. Rather than be ambidexterity, you are condemning your left hand to a life of missed opportunities and useless thoughts. I believe its time to stand up, and fight for forgotten hands around the world! :D - Louis Ponder
AJ - That doesn't surprise me actually. PR attempts to rank the interconnectedness of a site URL in Google's database. Mona is super popular in FF but hasn't made a giant splash outside of it, like Scoble has. People search and link to more of Scoble's FF entries than Mona's. - Phil Glockner
“I think Obama should suspend his campaign and let McCain campaign for him. McCain is doing a better job at showing how qualified Obama is than he's doing himself.”
